MRS here!!! recap...PIP (part I)

Hello Ladies...I was not going to do this until I got  more pics but I will just have to upload them when friends send them to me. Someone on here mentioned before ensure that you give your camera to one of your guests so that you have something to look at after the wedding...a must!:-) I left my camera in STL asked fiance to bring it to AZ with him and needless to say I didn't see it until we were ready to take off for our honeymoon. Ok, here goes, gonna try to make this brief but I am afraid I will fail misserably...LOL.

Friday Oct 5th-left STL and arrived in AZ to be confronted by all the things I have been mailing here to my mom's place. I started openning boxes that night and found a couple of things that weren't right e.g. the cake boxes didn't have a year on them and they were black on silver instead of eggplant on silver. Already told myself that there is nothing I could do about it but still called the compnay first thing in the next morning and got 50% of the money back!!!

Saturday Oct 6th- First time seeing my dress since May and since I was diagnosed with grave's disease and had lost over 30 lbs. As soon as I put on the dress I realized that some miracles would  need to take place. The seamstress gave me this look like what on earth did you dod!?!? My dress needed to be taken in over 3 dress sizes in less than a week. Then, I saw the bill! HA! I was thinking let me just run to david's bridal and get a new dress. But luckily, I had set aside some emergency money in case something popped up. Because of alll the beading on my dress...alterations were over $500...smh. Atleast it wasn't more than the coast of the dress!

Saturday and Sunday- I got to folding cake boxes...I have decided that I don't want to get a divorce simply because I don't want to fold cake boxes again! LOL. These boxes were for our traditional caribbean black cake.

Monday- Meet with the pastor for the first time!! And thank God I loved him..he is such a sweet man and I loved what he had planned for our ceremony..

Tuesday-Some of my mom's friends started to arrive. And they helped cut up the black cake to put in boxes while I wrote out the place cards.

Wednesday-We got a call from Guyana saying that my great aunt was found dead in her house...SMH! Unbelievable!! The entire morning was spent trying to start making funeral arrangments. This particular aunt had no kids and my mom is her power attorney. My mom spoke to her just that Sunday when I was I was out and about doing something. In that convo mom was telling her that she really needed to have someone come stay with her. She was the last of the sibblings left and was up there in age. Mom then said that she would call her again that Wednesday so that she could speak to me. Apparently that Sunday she fell and hit her head and after being missing for a couple of days, someone decided to call the police and she was found on the kitchen floor..sheesh. It was heart breaking and the last thing we expected. After that morning had pssed, mom said lets stop talking about the funeral, we have a wedding to get through. Even though she sounded confident saying that, I knew she was hurting. I even volunteered to cancel my honeymoon and stay with my dad who has alzheimers so that she could feel at ease about going to Guyana but she insisted that nothing changed. My mom is an incredible woman...

So...I left the house that afternoon for my bachelorette party. I had no idea what was ahead of me, I was just told to wear something casual for the first half and then something red capertish for the evening and PJs. It was so cool! We did a cooking class for the first half. We drank wine and cooked  mediterranean food. It was all dandy until the end we realized we couldn't eat all that food and proceeded to try to figure out how to pack it all up and take it with us. Then the owner proceeded to tell us that we couldn't take the food with us! Including the entire cake we baked! WTH!!!?!? I asked what she was going to do with it and she said she was going to pack it up (tupperware in hand) and give it to her employees for lunch. HUH? Ok, we get that you don't have a restaurant permit but we did we just cook for you and your employees...and why did you not tell my MOH about this. So we decided as a group about 10 of us that we were either going to run out of there with the food or throw it all away. So we proceeded to eat as much as we can and then dumped it all..you should have seen her face! She should really start some sort of feed the homeless program with that food...anywho..moving on....later that night we went to a suite that everyone pitched in for got ready for our night out..they also pitched in for an Yukon SUV so everyone could roll together. Keep in mind it's Wednesday in PHX..not much to do but we had fun either ways. We first went to Karaoke bar...which I thought I was my favorite part of the evening. Picture a group of girls singing No scrubs at the tope of their lungs..lol. then we moved on to another club which wasn't popping and then to the strip club and lets just say I am very happy to be married to who I am married too...what exactly were they working with? I have no clue...very dissappointing!!

Ok ladies...my dad just woke up and mom is away in Guyana..gotta go take care of him...sorry to leave you hanging...will pick up when I can with rehearsal, the big day and the honeymoon!!
