No More Dresses!

Ok so today purchased my dress! CHECK! The pictures are on my phone and I need to email them to myself to attach here. But until then, here is the link

http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Taffeta-Lace-Halter-Gown-with-Side-Drape-9V3194_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Size-Plus-Sizes

I didn't think I would be able to find anything at David's bridal,  but everyone kept telling me go look, go look. So after a few other stores and a failed Pearl's Place attempt I went in. I LOVE the top of the dress. I didn't want halter and I didn't want an A line type of dress. BUT that is what I found today! PLUS, most importantly, the price is RIGHT!!

Today FI and I got really real about honeymoon locations and budget and decided we would go to Northern Cali ( I live in L.A.) for a few days for the honeymoon. That is a FAR crazy from New York, but that's what our budget can afford. I love San Fran so I am game to go anywhere! So With that in mind I lowered my price point of a wedding dress and went to David's. I actually found a dress, they have a payment plan and I didn't feel pressured and hoodwinked when shopping.

So now I am online looking at all these other dress options and I need to QUIT! I want to go and try on more dresses. I am a mess! I must stay away from all dress stores and now move on to focus on some other wedding aspect.  FLOWERS!

Heaven help me...

Congrats on finding your dress. I really love the lace detail on top. Since you've found your dress, stop looking. I plan on visiting northern Cali one day. I heard driving down the coast is very beautiful. Congrats on picking your honeymoon location.

Question  Why aren't you getting the Alfred Angelo dress?  Not that I don't like the DB dress it just seems like from your post you were "pushed" into going to DB.  You don't seem excited about the dress.  So that makes me question what happened with the first dress to make you keep looking.  What was the Pearl's place fail?

I'm from the bay so let me know if you need help finding deals and the like.  Are ya'll just going to San Fran or other places.  I highly recommend coming up to Napa.  The wine country is beautiful. If I can be of any help let me know.

So I called pearl's place and they dont have the dress. Sucks!

I felt so much pressure at Alfred Angelo but I really love that dress. The david's bridal experience was so nice!!  The girl was so nice and I didnt feel pressured. But today I couldn't get that dress outta my head. It is crazy!! So I cant decide.

Well, yes I can. So I prayed that it will all work out when I call David's today at 11... once i have an update.. I will update yall...

This is so funny, girl the AA dress you like is my dress. If you're interested in purchasing it after my wedding let me know.

ETA: Just saw your post. why do you have to call David's. Have you paid in full or just made a deposit. If you purchased it already, I would move on to your other checks. The dress you picked is beautiful.

San Francisco is a LOVELY city. It will be a super romantic place for your honeymoon. I agree with DJSCAT that a trip to Napa Valley is a must!  It is only an hour or drive and so much fun. I would also recommend heading over to the East Bay for dinner at Skates on the Bay. Their crab artichoke is to die for.  The view of the golden gate bridge at sunset there is also breathtaking.

About your wedding gowns.....  Stop looking if you have found something that you are happy with.  I love both of the styles.  Since you are still torn, what is the price difference of the gowns and which one do you feel most comfortable and beautiful in? That is the dress you should wear on your wedding day.  Heck, my wedding is in 3 weeks, you can borrow my gown if you want.  :)  Seriously.  I'll bring a picture on Saturday.

Congrats on the dress but let me say this, I rushed through my dress process and picked a dress I wasn't absolutely in love with. Am I happy? yes. Do I feel and look beautiful in it? Of course. But is that MY dress? I'd have to say no. I rushed through the process because to be honest, it overwhelmed me. As a plus size bride I really was terrified of all that comes with clothes shopping and this purchase just increased all of those anxieties. I wanted to get a dress to be done with it and focus on something else.

I rushed the process cause I didn't feel deserving of wearing the bride title. I made my choice and I will stick with it. But now I'm a little less afraid to fully state what I want for this celebration and putting all of that energy into the other things.

Hopefully you'll find something in that little blurb that may settle you in this decision. Good luck with whatever you go with!

That's why I love this group.  So glad Ty encouraged me to join.

OP, congrats on your purchase!  I totally know how you feel about looking for other dresses.  I've been watching too much TV so I was expecting to cry and act an emotional mess when I found my dress but I didn't.  I tried on a lot of dresses but knew I wouldn't feel like my dress was "the one" until I tried on EVERY dress on the planet.  That is impossible so I picked the dress that I loved, that looked good on me, and made me feel not only stunning but like a bride.

Do what makes you happy but go with your gut feeling and how you felt when you had the dress on.

If you do decide to switch dresses, don't feel limited by your budget.  We scaled down our wedding costs for the sake of our honeymoon too.  I still found a Maggie Sottero dress from her Spring 2011 collection for $700 (including tax) and I love it!
