Question about DJ... {Married Knotties, Your input would help}

Hi ladies. I know there were some knotties who got married who had dj's that were family friends or something to that extent.  Did your venue require an insurance liability for them? If so did your dj have that? If your dj didnt how did you get around this?

I have a dj who is a popular DJ in Tallahassee and a long time friend of my brother and I. he offerred to DJ my wedding for less than half of what some of the more popular DJ's I received quotes from.  I am on a budget and have done very well when it came to staying under budget and want to maintain my budget but this is wracking my brain.  I appreciate your help in this manner and any advice is greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Did you ask your venue directly about the DJ liability policy? it should be in your contract. If he doesn't have it I believe there are some temporary policies brides can purchase. Def check with your venue

Ours required insurance but I was able to get a waiver cause of the amount we were spending there. You could call your venue to see.

Thanks for the heads up on the temporary insurance.  She knows my DJ doesnt have it and was cool with it and told me about a waiver of responsibility form.  But now everytime she calls me, thats the only thing she asks about.... very annoying.  I mean one of the popular djs are charging 700 for 4 hours.  He's willing to do it for free cause we're friends but my brother will be paying him and with equipment rental it will come up to 250 for the dj.  Im all about the bargain.
