Back from ER with FI...

Thank you ladies soooooooo much!  I cried as I read your posts.  Here is an update.

We were at the ER from 7:30p to 7:30a.  FI had an MRI and ultrasound of his eye completed.  These exams ruled out a blocked blood vessel.  We were told at the ER he has to be seen by another specialist immediately.  So, we went back to the hospital today at 1:45p so he could be examined by the ocular plastic (specializes in the areas behind and around the eye).  After this exam, we were taken to see the neurologist immediately who ordered an MRA (exams the arteries) to rule out an aneurysm (just returned @ 10p from having this exam done). To sum it up, after 19 hours in the ER and hospital,we now know he does not have any blocked blood vessels or an aneurysm.  A damaged nerve was found and we are waiting on special blood tests to return to rule out another condition (not life threatening).  If the issue persists, a spinal tap may be done to check for viral issues that could be causing the "droopy" eyelid.   He has to follow up next week and we both are really tired.

Again, thank you many times over.  I must admit, when we were told it could be an aneurysm I was scared but notably calm.  Just know, whatever prayers you sent up to were heard because ya girl was given a peace that surpassed all understanding!!!  While we do not have a definite Dx, we know that the issue is not life threatening.  Also, the issue has not caused vision loss.  I tell y'all, God is beyond awesome.  I will keep everyone updated as we learn more!  More thanks to you all as I stand with you claiming total healing for FI's eye!!!

You ladies are wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God bless!

How unbelievably scary!  He's a lucky man to have you by his side through all of this.  I hope they can find some answers soon so he can begin some sort of treatment.  Thank goodness it isn't an anuerysm!  I'll be praying for you.

Thank you again ladies!!!  Your words of encouragement mean a great deal to both of us!! I shared with FI all the prayers and words of support that were given and it made him smile immensely and brought tears to his eyes as well (he would prob leave that out).

@Magnum06- Thank you!! I receive your prayer and stand in accord with you!! TOTAL healing for FI!  Thank you!

@Mrs.Dorris2be- Yes, I too hope the healthcare issue will be resolved soon so all Americans will have access to quality healthcare.  Yesterday, the one recurring theme was "Where is his referral?"  and "We can't see him with out a referral."  Well, thank God FI's coverage does not require referrals.  But, the issue that bothered me, and still does, is if his coverage did require one, we would not have been able to r/o an aneurysm or have seen the neurologist.  Funny part is, it is typically not the physicians who want to refuse, it is the front end.  I know, they are just doing there jobs, but the truth is this is how the ERs become crowded with folks who want and need answers to medical issues.  Case in point, the docs said if they could not get an emergency appointment for the MRA, FI and I would have been back in the ER.
