Planning for my BFF

Hello,
I'm trying to plan out my BFF's wedding for her and give her a bunch of ideas. She wants to get married in October (yes, THIS October!) and she isn't completely traditional. She doesn't want BMs or anything like that and doesn't want dancing. She wants the ceremony and reception at the same place. Just wondering where YOU are getting married? Since it's October it must have an indoor option if you are getting married outside. Any help is really greatly appreciated. :) TIA!

I recommend checking out Lake Union Cafe www.lakeunioncafe.com. If FI and I were getting married in the fall, we would have totally done it there.  Of course I don't know how many guests, budget, etc she has, but for the price and what's all included, it's pretty good. HTH!

A knottie recently got married at the DAR building, and I loved the photos that we saw.  I can't remember her name off the top of my head, but others might.  Here's the link to the venue - http://www.rainierchapterhouse.com/

It would be helpful to know your friend's general budget, and approximately how big of a wedding she's thinking she'd like.

I got married at Tyee Yacht Club. Another friend of mine is doing exactly the senerio you described above. She is getting married at Seattle Tennis Club in September.

Yes, I got married at the DAR house (in October as well!) and I loved it! It's a large, two story  on Capitol Hill that is a miniature reproduction of George Washington's Mount Vernon :)

We had our wedding in the first floor sitting room and the reception on the second floor ballroom. We had about 80 people at the wedding, but it would fit many more. It definitely has a lot of character. Plus it's a great deal $1700 fee includes everything, dinnerware, glassware, silverware, chairs, tables, etc. One caveat, it books pretty quickly (as do many places) so there might not be many openings. A Friday or a Sunday might be open.

FI and I are getting married at Acalia Events in Seattle. Indoors, the capacity is 80. This is also the home of Foodz Catering, so included in the cost of your wedding is the catering, alcohol,  tables, chairs, linens, flatware, dishes... uh some other stuff. But the entire cost is stated up front, which is also nice. It has vaulted glass ceilings and you can see the space needle from indoors.

    Good luck :o)

Thanks for the help ladies. Seblagg your wedding looked GORGEOUS! Congrats! I passed that all on for her. I'm not sure her budget but she had said she wanted it to be like $5k or so. And as for people I kept asking and she said maybe 200? I would assume it would be a little less though.

Holy moly. $5k for 200? Is she thinking of doing just a cocktail hour? Send me your email address and I'll send you a venue spreadsheet I made. It's kind of incomplete and I did make it just for myself so it's more focused on venues that might work for us (we were looking at 150, but also indoors). But it might still be helpful.
