Just braved my first.....

Just braved my first family reunion picnic with the future family! :) Whew! It was great because most of the family I knew from the times I visited FI's church. It was a few awkward moments when I was sitting alone but I tried to mingle as best I could. It was exciting meeting my future family and they were excited to meet the "babies' " wives. lol FI's twin brother was in town as well with his new wife. They've been married 3 months. Lol she was in the same position as me so once we got together we had a great time catching up and no more awkard moments. Weirdly enough I bare a striking resemblance to FI's older sister. So all day I've been called by her name and one family suggested we go back look at the family tree again. lol (been there done that) So now I'm waiting on FI to get out of the shower so we can get ready to head to one of our college buddy's wedding. It's also my birthday weekend (birthday is Sunday) and I feel a surprise coming on.lol  So I have no idea what we'll being doing for my birthday since we've been so busy with his family hosting the reunion. (We're missing the banquet tonight to go to the wedding) I'm also excited to sit down and chat with FI's mom and sisters. They graciously volunteered to do the decorations for me. They host events all the time and decorate and are absolutely excited to do this. So I guess that's another check on my list and another step forward for my budget friendly wedding! :)

Thanks for taking a quick moment to share with us.  I'm really glad you had a good time today. It helps when his family is nice.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
