Nails, what are you doing?

What are you all doing with your nails?
I think since i've been 1. stressed out, 2. doing extra work & paperwork for the wedding, 3. been to busy to really take care of my hands/nails...
I cut them all down & want to keep them like that till 1-2 wks before the wedding. then I am going to grow them out a LITTLE. I don't normally have long nails & I want to keep them short & tiddy for the wedding.
I never wear polish on my nails so I wanted to keep them really plain jane... I always wear polish on my toe nails so they will be painted, probably a light pink.
My nails have been breaking and cracking and splitting lately. I bought this nail moisturizer but I don't remember to use it as much as I probably need to so it's not really working. I am worried that when the wedding comes I will have to go get a french manicure or something. Although, I don't really want to.... it's not really my style. I just don't think they will look good enough for a clear coat...
What do you think?
What are you doing?

No idea. I feel the same as you, really:

I don't like my nails long. I had acrylics once and didn't live it either. Mine aren't long enough for a French manicure, and I actually never wear polish on them either, so I have no idea.

As for your nails breaking, I've never tried it, but I've had a few friends who take prenatal vitamins because apparently it does wonders for your hair and nails. Don't know how that works if you aren't pregnant, though.

I'm going to do nothing to my fingernails until we're on the island, then the day before the wedding I'll probably have short acrylics put on with French tips.  My nails aren't very uniform and pretty, so they need a little help, but I don't want anything too long since we'll be traveling and in the ocean, and I don't want them in the way.

As for toenails, I'll probably have a pedicure done before I leave, and I want Pompeii Purple on them (fuschia pink) with a floral design painted onto my big toenail.  :)

I actually started taking prenatal vitamins about a year ago. Not pregnat or trying to get pregnat, it just had a better percentage of the vitamins that I needed (iron). It has done wonders for both my hair and nails, my hair grows super fast and my nails (which used to always break) are so much stronger. I would suggest giving FI a heads up before you buy them so that he doesn't freak, but they do wonders.

The day before the wedding I'm taking my BM's out and getting mani's and pedi's. I never grow out my nails, but since I'm 5 weeks away now, I 'm going to stop biting them! I'm terrible at that.
I'll see how long they get and then have them nice and french tipped for the wedding!

My nails grow like crazy and I don't bite them, so I don't have that problem.  But I think they don't look great long, they just get long easy.  I plan to cut them down to a respectable length and do a french manicure.  For the toes, either frence or a light clear or white...cause the shoes are blue.

I have an issue getting my nails to grow too.....and i also have issues with acryllics, so if they do grow by the wedding, i'll get a french manicure.  If not, i'll probably just paint them a pinkish white color which is what i usually do when i get a manicure.

The day before we are all going for mani/pedi.  I hate the upkeep of the fake nails so I will just stick with a light polish.  My toes though.....hmmm....I am thinking maybe blue.

For the girls getting acrylics - are you going to keep them after the wedding or have them removed?

My nails grow really fast, but my cuticles look like crap. I don't chew my nails, I chew the skin around them. :(  I want to get a mani/pedi the day before, but I don't get them done very often. Anyone have any recs around actual Seattle? The best place I ever went was on Broadway but they moved and I don't know the name of the place so I can't find them! :(  But I LOVE fun toes, so even though my shoes are a light iris, I want color (dark iris?) and would love nail art on the big toes. For my hands, I'm going to be a little odd and do what I did for my sister's wedding. For hers, I was wearing a really pretty and vibrant spring green dress. I found a color that was similar but a little toned down, so I had a French done with the color instead of white and then a super pale version instead of the pinky-clear. It actually was more subtle than it sounds, but was fun.

I like my nails short. Don't do french because it chips too easily on me. I just picked a nude blush color. Like a really light opaly pink when I got my manicure.

I am keeping mine short but definitely painting them, probably a really dark red.

I actually have acryllics right now. So, I will have them then. I was thinking that it would be fun to have a french tip but instead of a white tip I am going to go with a colored tip! :D So much fun! :D I was thinking of going with Strawberry Fields. I love that color and it has subtle orange flecks of glitter in it which the color just fits perfectly with my wedding colors! As for my tootsies, I will probably go with the same color and a fun hawaiian flower design on my big toes. I have had it done before and love it! Plus, it will work for our Hawaiian Honeymoon! Yay!

Getting mani/pedis with the BMs the day before and I will have my toes painted probably with a flower on the big toes and a pseudo french airbrush design on my nails.  I will be keeping my natural nails if I can because they actually are in pretty good shape since I've grown them out after removing my acrylics.
