Smokey smell

I venue has been used to do BINGO etc and its not overwhelming but theres a bit of a smokey smell. Any suggestions, the man told me to just put in Glade plug ins the night before and that it will be gone but I'm just wondering if you guys have any other ideas. We are burning candles during the reception.

someone once told me they put baking soda  boxes around their new house because it smelled like smoke. I am sure the candles will do something but maybe you can ask them if you purchase and place the baking soda (maybe they have to be in mesh sacks so there aren't yellow boxes around the room) you can put them in a day or two days before.

Walmart has a spray that's sold in the automotive department that will do the trick. I can't think of the name of it, but the car dealerships use it for cars that have that problem. It works, spray it the night before then try it. Make sure u hit them walls with it also.

Try the bath & body works room spray. The small silver bottles of room spray, highly concentrated & comes in a variety of scents. I use plug-ins at home & work & they're great also. Nice lingering scent. You may need a few plug-ins also to make a difference in an open space.
