POLL: Aisle Runner Question

Hey Ladies,

My sister and I are debating on if the aisle runner should be laid down before the ceremony or during once everyone has walked down. Well I'm okay with before. My sister on the other hands believes no should walk on the runner before me.

Are you putting the aisle runner down before or during your ceremony???

You know I'm not sure. Part of me doesn't care part of me likes the idea of them unrolling it before me just when I'm ready to walk down.

I don't want anyone else to walk on the aisle runner excpet me.  When the ushers lay out the asile runner, it's a signal to the guests that I am about to make my entrance.

Our GM rolled out the aisle runner right before I came out. I didn't really have a preference but that's how the Rev. walked through it in rehearsal so that's what we did.

Also, my BIL just got married last weekend and he had a runner and the bride's heel poked holes in it when she walked. Not a huge deal but just something to think about if you roll it out before the ceremony your guests' heels might poke holes or rip the runner before you get to walk on it.

OMG!  The more posts I read the more I realize I have things I have not thought about for the wedding.  So, now that this has been posed, and I have thought about it, I have to say the runner will be placed right before I walk down the aisle.  Thanks for this poll!

I agree with pp...just before you walk down the aisle.  Plus they can be expensive if you're getting it custom made and  you don't want it ruin before you walk down the aisle.

Thanks Ladies. I plan on adding my monogram to my aisle runner. My sis says adding the monogram a waste because no one will really see it. It's something I want to do so I'm going to do it.

Anyway I will be letting his boys roll the aisle runner out before the flowergirls come down the aisle.

My runner is carpet so it will definitely be laid down before. I've noticed that most times when ppl have a monogram, they roll it out before the ceremony starts. Only time I have seen it get ripped is when it's not tacked down very well.
Honestly, I think you would benefit from rolling it out early because you can tack it down properly so there's no buckling,all the guests can see your monogram and thephotographer has time to get some great photos of it.
Just some food for thought

Our ushers will pull it down right before the flower girls &  I walk down. My mom says its the way to do it.

Thanks ladies. I forgot to add my ceremony is outside so I wouldnt be able to tack it down. Lord  I hope all of this works out.
