Anybody else in Pre-marital Counseling...

Now? How is it going? Anything you were expecting that didn't occur or happened that you weren't expecting? How many sessions will you have?

We have a total of 6 sessions that lasts for three months. We just had our second session and it has been going well. He asked the question if we were still sleeping together and told us not to engage in the act anymore until the wedding day :) Besides that it's been great and he really has us thinking long and hard about the kind of marriage we want and what it takes to make it last. He has introduced some good scenerios that have made us think about what if this or that happened how would we handle it.

Not sure, either 3 or 4 sessions. I love the conversations and not uncomfortable because he is also a longtime family friend.

We just finished ours tonight and it has been AMAZING!!!! God has done so many wonderful things throughout the course of the sessions and I know that a lot of that has to do with what we learned and have applied from our sessions.

We have and it's been great.  Its an open forum class, very relaxed, and informal.  The class lasts 17 weeks and we started in January this year (right after we got engaged).  I have learned sooo much from these classes about what the bible has to say about marriage.  I have gained so much insight on what is going to be the most challenging and fulfilling relationship.  The neat part about this whole experience is that FI is excited about going every week.  This past week we were off because of Easter and we were both looking crazy because we sooo wanted to be in pre-marital class.  LOL.

We finished ours already, and they were a blessing.  We did a group pre-marital class at church (8 weeks) and then individual counseling sessions with a minister also (3 total).

The key now is we need to continue to put what we learned into practice and keep working at communication.  B/c it's great when you're learning everything and right afterwards, but sometimes it can be easy to slip back into old patterns after a while...it takes daily action/effort!

Were in counseling and so far i love it! we had alot of hickups and were just taking as much time needed to allow the healing process to take place. were  also correcting somethings.

I belive this should have been done from the get go and it could have caught alot of things that shouldn't have took place.

I agree ladies it's been very eye-opening. Our first session he asked how would we handle me getting pregnant 6 months after the wedding verses our planned 2 to 3 years. Then yesterday he asked "okay we are getting married August 6th let's say July we find out she's pregnant but it's someone else's baby." I tell you it is really interesting to hear the responses from the both of us. The sessions have made us think and as each other questions. I definitely see it benefiting our relationship in a positive way.

We had our 2nd session last week! Our couseling is with my Pastor and his wife. I love it!! We've learned sooo much and my FH asked soooo many questions that he suprised me that he was so interested in it. They gave us homework for our 3rd session regarding our household budget, family plans for the future and a few questions that we have to answer seperately such as: What makes your fiance different from other men/women you've dated?? <<< I know my FH's answer better be good!! =)

We had 4 sessions with our pastor and first lady. It was so benefical for so many aspects of our lives and relationship.  I even cried(happy tears) like a big baby during our second session. But in the last session the pastor's wife told us that we were made for each other by God. That truly touched my heart.
