Weekend Recap- OH LAWD!! (PIP)

I'm just getting home from a 4 day trip back to my hometown to take care of my fitting for my dress.  Well A LOT more happened than that.  So strap in and don't laugh too hard (OK it's ok if you do   )

Thursday started off pretty good.  I got off work at 7:30am and then headed home for a quick shower before heading to my hair appointment.  Got to the shop and of course my stylist is running late. Um yeah that sucks because I hadn't been to sleep yet.  She finally arrived, apoligized and we got down to business.  I got a short nap in while under the dryer.  Got finished about 11:30 and headed home to get a nap.  But before I got my nap in I had to run by the shoe place to pick up my wedding ceremony shoes since I got the heel cut.  Um yeah I was hoping for a big chop but they only took off like 1/4 inch! So those bad boys are still 4 inches tall! What the HECK was I thinking?  Man IDK if they are going to make the final cut  Anywa I made it home and got that nap until  4:30pm.  The kids and I started rolling on the highway about 6pm and made it to my aunt's house about 10:30 pm.  Yeah baby! So glad we got to see the Heat take the championship!! Woot Woot!!

Friday we got ready for my dress fitting which was scheduled for 1pm.  At 11am while I was driving to FI parent's house to pick up my dress, my alarm went off telling me my appointment was in an hour! What the what?? Oh no baby! I freaked out just a little bit because I knew the appointment time but I called the bridal shop just to be sure.  Ok so 1pm was the right time.  So why in the heck did my alarm go off?  LOL um yeah I forgot that I had switched time zones and every appointment I had was changed.  WOW!! Antyways! Made it to FMIL's and got a chance to chat with her before we headed to the appointment.     My mom was supposed to meet us there as well but she had called earlier to say she had gotten news that a cIose friend of my parents had passed away and she needed to stay home - quite understandable.  So FMIL and I (with kids) head to the shop with my dress in tow.  We took two cars since FMIL had errands afterwards.  I got there a few minutes ahead of time and got inside out of the heat.  Just for fun I decided to play a trick on  my consultant and tell her that I had left the dress at the shop.  LOL!! It worked like a charm!! She was so sweet but you could literally see her face turning bright red!  FMIL arrives just in the nick of time and I tell them it was all a joke.  ha ha! I know I'm bad but it was fun.  So we start the appointment off fine and then it happened! LAWD I almost PASSED OUT! I got hot all over but thankfully they had bottles of water.  My dumb behind forgot my slim fast shake and didn't eat a thing! So note to yourself ladies - stay hydrated and EAT something!  The appointment carried on after I got it together and then I got the news I didn't want to hear.  Instead of doing my fitting in one appt, I have to go back in a month to get the hemline taken up.  The little English lady who did my fitting promised it would all work out fine but I'm a little sad. I want my dress!! But she needs to cut and tighten up the back portion around my butt (since I got a big ole booty) and take in the side plus my boob area.  I understand but that is a 5 hour drive ONE WAY!! Oh well, I will have to wait until July 20th for the next appt.  OAN FMIL tried on 2 dresses and the second one was a hit! She loved, I love it and she ordered it.  The only downfall is that she had to pay extra for a rush delivery. Crossing my fingers it comes in on schedule because that's only 2 weeks before the wedding.  Appointment ended pretty good after all that!  LATER - took the kids to the mall and found some silver shoes for my daughter to wear with her dress.  Got them on sale for $29.99 at Dillards.  They were super cute!  But I found out much later that the salesgirl gave us the WRONG box and we only had ONE shoe!! EVEN LATER - hung out with my mom She cracked open a BIG bottle of Moscato.  OMG my mom got TIPSY! And then the floodgates open with my mom.  She gave way too many suggestions about the wedding.  IDK where she thinks she is going but I took it all with a grain of salt. Since it's time for me to work on the ceremony, I'm going to think about what she is suggesting and pray what I come up with will make her happy/

Saturday came in with a bang.  I had to run back to Dillards to get the right shoes and then I took my kids to the beach.  Why did we have to pick the weekend when the red flag was flying?  Anway we managed to spend a few hours out there. The water was so beautiful but the waves kept knocking us over.  We ended the day by heading up to see the in laws.  They took us out for dinner with my FBIL and his girlfriend.  Had a great time with them.  My FMIL asked if we needed any $$ assistance so I promised to get back on that with them after I talked to FI.  



I love the beaches on the Gulf Coast!!

5 hrs, one way, bless ya heart. I can't stand long drives after a bad accident in '08 I start shaking and becoming anxious after a half hour lol. Glad you and ya fam made it safely.

great weekend!! LOL at your mom..that moscoto will get you everytime...and girl you better get a move on finding your wedding shoe..um..you need those for the fitting..(it does matter)..I went from a 4 inch heel to a 2 inch pair....so make sure you have them in hand when you go back to see the seamstress....happy shopping!

Sounds like a great weekend!  You got some great checks and a good deal on those shoes!  But hold up......did you say you got your hair done Thursday and then got knocked down by waves at the beach on Saturday!?  Girrrrrrl, I wouldda been tight!  lol  I'm the queen of being at the beach or pool without getting my hair wet!  lol  JK, glad you had a great time and a safe trip!  July 20 will be here before you know it!
