Would you consider??

a double wedding on your day?

FI out of the blue casually mentioned he thought it would be a good idea for his brother and girlfriend  to get married at the same time as we do.  Knowing the 2 of them and knowing the whole family dynamic, I'm not opposed.  I'd actually welcome it.

I mean we've already got the place, DJ, photographer and planner.  Why not? I still know how to make things special for "my" day if I  had to share.  It made me smile that FI thought of his brother that way.

To me that is the best thing.  I mean even though we have things taken care of, it would definitely be great to share the costs.  FI just mentioned it because of their big ass family.  I mean they are already going to be there all 100+ of just the first line.

IDK if anything came of it, I will let everyone know.

lol! this was my fear!  My FI has a twin brother. Twin bro and his girlfriend got engaged two days after FI and I. The first thing I thought was "oh no it's gonna be a double wedding! They're gonna want to do it! I just know it!"  Yes that was my selfish thinking. Luckily, FI was against the idea as well. His reason was that he and his brother had did everything together their whole lives. Our wedding day was going to be about us. We did discuss it and the pros of the money we'd save. However, FI's twin bro shocked us all by announcing that they were getting married less than a month later.  They planned a wedding in less than 2 weeks. So planning a wedding definitely can be done if any of you are stressing about running out of time.  (myself included)Wink

It would depend on who the second couple is for me. But, iIt certainly would be cheaper because the costs would be split and I would see it as a whole lot of fun.

I would do a separate ceremony but a shared reception, I'm all for that!

<div>That was my thoughts. My mother got married in October, everyone would ask us if we are having a double wedding, we always responded, "We are too selfish for that" I wouldn't mind sharing a reception since it is where the money is Except my mom and i had comepletely different visions of our reception.</div>

I would do separate ceremonies but I would think a double reception is awesome.... Takes us out of the spotlight and to me that is a grand idea.

I am selfish so it would all have to be separate... LOL... But I think it would be cool to attend one...lol

If I were very close to the couple, I would consider it; however, I am a bit selfish and want our day for us.
