I saw on the Honeymoon post that you went to Cozumel, Isla Roatan, Belize & Grand Cayman. I think we're taking the same cruise (Carnival?)! How did you like it? Any tips/advice? Did you do any excusions? We're looking at snuba (maybe in Cozumel), zip lining in Belize, and parasailing in Grand Cayman.

I do not prefer Carnival Cruise over Royal Carribean but we still had a great time.  To me, Carnival was a bit unorganized in terms of the activities and I'm big on that kind of corny stuff.  LOL.  DH loved it except he got sick a couple of times.  In terms of advice and tips I would say check your tab because it's easy to get wrapped up in the whole vacation thing and then at the very end of the trip get hit with a big huge bill.  DH said to buy alcohol when you get off at the ports instead of buying it on the ship.  He also said (which I agree with) if you go on excursions check to see how far the ship docks from the excursion, because you may be within walking distance and can pay much less to do it yourself rather than go through carnival.  He also said never pay full price for souvenirs, everything is negotiable.  I would say do most of your shopping in Roatan because it's not as touristy and the prices are a little more reasonable and negotiable.  Also, if you are deciding on not going on an excursion somewhere to cut costs, make sure that place is not Roatan.  For Roatan you will want to do an excursion because it's not as developed for tourists as the other stops.

We did do excursions.  On our trip we were supposed to stop in Belize but we didn't because of Hurricane Alex,  that was disappointing because we were going to go tubing there.  While in Grand Cayman we went on a submarine tour, we went on a island tour in Roatan and visited the museum of history and aquarium and went shopping in the market.  Also, in Cozumel we visited the Mayan Ruins.
