WP seating during the ceremony?

After seeing the D.G.W. tread below, I noticed that one of the weddings had the WP sitting at the base of the stairs while the Pastor/Minister was speaking on the stage. I think that looks a little weird. I'm realizing I'm not sure if I should have everyone on the stage as well.

What are you doing?

I thought the wedding party was supposed to stand during the ceremony.  Hopefully our ceremony will not last longer than 30-40 minutes, so the WP shouldn't need to sit down.  But I guess it depends on your ceremony location.

By the pictures I've seen, the WP usually sits at Catholic weddings b/c they can be so lengthy. At all of the other ceremonies I've been to, they stand. It probably depends on your personal preference and the style of your ceremony.

The GM sat in the pews up on the altar until the ceremony started. BM's stood through out the ceremony.

ETA...Mind you, our ceremony was only about 25 minutes. If you're having a long drawn out ceremony, it would probably be nice if the WP could sit.

Because I am having a Catholic ceremony and like pp said they can be lengthy, the WP will be seated in the pews with the rest of the congregation, and I believe FI and I will be seated on the altar with the priest.

My wedding party will be seated in chairs between the first pews and the alter.  I was in a wedding once and my shoes were KILLING me through the ceremony.  I don't want my girls to go through that.  Plus I want everyone to be able to pay attention to and enjoy the service.
