Reception Seating

I know this question has been asked before but I can't find it!!!

How are you seating your parents and wedding party at the reception? Are your parents and wedding party sitting with you at the head table? Or do you have separate tables for the parents and wedding party close by to the head table? Or are you letting your parents and wedding party sit wherever they want to?

We are having a sweetheart table. Then I am going to have a MOB table, FOB table, MOG table, and a bridal party table which will include their guests.

At my wedding  we had a sweetheart table and no headtable. There were 3 tables in the front directly facing our table where our families and wedding party sat. My wedding party had their own table, my parents and very close family had their own table, and my in-laws and their close family had their own table. It worked for us.

I am also having a sweetheart table. I haven't quite worked out the rest of the tables as of yet but I know the bridal party will have two tables to themselves.

We had a sweetheart table for us, WP sat with thier dates at different assigned tables (with other people they knew). DH's closest family had a table close to us on one side and my closest family (mom, aunt, etc.) had a table closest to us on the other side. In general: we sat ppl at tables where they knew (at least) a few other people.  We sat the people that dance the most closest to the dance floor and it worked out well because everyone was dancing all night.

We're having a sweetheart table. Then on both sides of our table, there will be tables for the WP and their date/spouse. And reserved tables for immediate fam.

We're also having a sweetheart table and we'll probably have 2 tables for the wedding party and their dates and another table for parents and close family. 
If you're having a head table, parents generally don't sit there, or at least I've never been to a wedding where the parents are at the head table.  They usually have a table that's right in front of it.

I had a sweethearts table directly in front.  To my right I had the Bridesmaids table. None of them brought dates (tables sat 8) so I also had my sister-in-law (she's 16) and my photographers sit up there (because I LOOVE them and so they could eat first)..then I had the groomsmens table to my left with them and their dates. Then I had the table directly in front of us seat: The minister and wife, my parents, his parents and the grandparents.

I'm having the sweetheart table, then four reserved tables for immediate family.  Now my issue is how to keep some of my family at the reserved tables from "holding seats" for other members who should not be at any reserved table!  Long story; happened at my older sister's wedding a few months ago.....

I'll probably let them all know at the rehearsal dinner that if a person's name isn't at the table, they can't sit there!

We're having a sweetheart table, but probably no head tables or tables for the bridal party.  We are going to assign tables to people, but I'll probably intersperse the wedding party with the rest of the guests to put them with people they'll have a good time with (or already know).

We will be having a sweetheart table and the WP will be sitting at table close to us with their significant others. I will be having a special table for my aunts. My parents are both deceased.
