That's a repeat show. I was about done with her. They had to special design and make the first dress cause she couldn't find anything and then she had the nerve to come back wasting time talking about she wanted to top it. Just design another dress or wear that one and pick something else for your Nigerian wedding.

ok now stepping away to take a deep breath cause she pissed me off the first time I watched that episode.

I guessed I missed the first airing of this episode.  Ty Im with you... 10K is not a lot.  You might just be short a centerpiece and bouqet with that amount.  Lord knows I would use just 2% (yeah did the math) for my  wedding and the rest would go towards securing the rest of my life with FI with ease.  WOOOOOOOO!!!

Her dress costs more than my wedding! If I had an extra $17,000 sitting around, I would not be spending it on a dress! Whew too much for me! People are loosing jobs and houses and you gonna spend half a mil on a wedding? Come on now. Step your common sense up in 2011 people.

I saw that show too and I was disgusted!!! She actually reminds me of my brother's ex-FI whose parents were planning on spending a ridiculous amount on the wedding. I'm like - can we just get a quarter of that money

I didnt see it tonight. Is that the bride that kind of looks like Wendy Williams? Blonde hair?

Yes! She did look like Wendy Williams, lol! Bless her heart, poor thing was a mess. She needed to invest some of that money into a new lacefront because that thing she had on was scary. I made dear FI watch it and he said, "What's that she's wearing on her head?" with absolutely no snark or malice, just pure wonderment at the sheer ridiculousness of the thing. She has terrible taste too. I understand wanting something blinged out and fabulous, but regardless, it must fit your body shape.

But she's obviously a princess and gets what she wants. If her parents are dropping that much, then they probably can afford it. (They can feel free to adopt my little American self anytime)

I missed that episode but hopefully I can find it on the internet. My FI is Nigerian so I try to see as many traditional weddings as I can. Did everyone not like her because of the money she was spending or did she have a bad attitude?

I'm not spending anywhere near that amount but we are spending a great deal of money that is above the national average for a wedding. My thoughts are that the  expenses should be relative to your incomes. If you got the money I don't think it should be a problem. Now when people spend $100K on their weddings and don't have a home or money in savings there is a problem. By the time FI pay for our wedding we would have budgeted for almost two years. We are not going into debt to pull this off.

OHHH that was a repeat.  I could not watch it a second time. She is a hot hot mess.  I agree.. with all that money, she should have gotten a better weave or lace front.  I just think that sometimes less is more... I could have seen less of her and that funky azz wig and more dresses.  SMH

@Carla: She wasn't nasty. She was just very spoiled and had terrible taste. It was more comical than anything.  I definitely do not begrudge anyone the right to spend as much as they want to on their wedding. I enjoy big flashy weddings. We're spending a bit on ours too, but fortunately by having it overseas, we've limited out guest list significantly, which has helped hold costs down.

I can't knock it...who knows what I'd do if money wasn't an issue. I just told my boo if I had money my bridesmaids gifts would be a pair of Christian Louboutin's and an iPad. I'm just saying, if I had it...who knows the possibilities!!!!!
