Venue in Tacoma/Lakewood area

We need a venue that will fit about 200 for both the ceremony & the reception in the Lakewood area.  We have one that is $1000, so we are looking for one cheaper than that, if it's possible! Thanks!

There are a number of nice places in the area but under $1000 may be difficult (I tried).  It really depends on what you want; simple reception, sit-down dinner, etc.

The Landmark is lovely, Pt. Defiance has some lovely places as well.  Lakewold Gardens, especially in summer is beautiful.  If you want something a little more quirky you can try the Foss Waterway Seaport.

I talked to Kelsey at the Tacoma-Pierce County Regional Convention Center for some ideas and she was great to work with.  I'd reccomend you give her a call (and yep, her services are free).

$1,000 to fit 200 is tough. I'd second Sharingyourlove about Foss Waterway Seaport - but only if you're planning on summer. It's chilly in the winter. With some pipe and drape, it's really pretty. A wedding there was in the South Sound Wedding & Event (or some name like that) magazine. Turned out really nice.

Slavonian Hall in Tacoma is a 48 hour rental for $1000. You get it at noon the day before your event to set up and then you need to be cleaned and "checked out" by noon the day after. Very reasonable for the price range (especially nice for being able to get everything set up THE DAY BEFORE). My sister did her reception there and it was lovely. I would totally do it, except I'm a little nervous it would end up being too similar to my sister's. Undecided
