Cake vendors?

Hi all! So I am looking for a cake vendor...

Who did you opt NOT to go with and why?

I'm using Kelli with kelliscakecreations.com. SHe is amazing! You should definately look into her.

Oh yeah, and just FYI, right now she has gift certificates that are $50 but are worth 100 bucks in cake. That could save you $50 on your wedding cake! Plus if you are a fan of hers via FB you can get another 10% so $60 dollars in savings!

I went with Kelli.  Price is good, cake is yummy, and she's a sweetheart once she warms up to you (doesn't take too long!).  I avoided Mike's Amazing Cake due to mixed reviews and the fact that they messed up MOH's cake when she got married a few years ago.

Kelli!  Her cake is amazing!  I went back for a second tasting over the weekend, and I can't stop thinking about how amazing our cake is going to be!

I also used Kelli because she is highly recommended and her cakes are delicious. For Groom's cake I used Kingsley's dimmensional deserts. I used them because she is cheap and has done structual stuff for other knotties and was recommended by them. The next lowest price for a structure cake was 3x what Wendy quoted. She blew me away with how it turned out.

I went with Bakery Nouveau.  They are our favorite bakery ever!  They were wonderful to work with and our cake tasted fabulous!

Was going to check out Celebrity Cake Studio too, as we like their cakes, but they were super rude when I called to schedule a tasting.  (Our wedding was really small but we wanted a three tier cake.  I knew I would be paying for more than my guest count and was perfectly fine with that.  The girl I spoke with on the phone basically made me feel as if we weren't worth their time.

We are using Madison Park Bakery.  I love, love, love them...and their desserts!  We always would go to them for birthday cakes/donuts - and so we knew we would have to use them for our wedding.  Just remember, cake tasting should be one of the funnest parts of the planning process!

Champagne - I was really looking forward to going to their tasting.  When the Dash Point Met. Market was still open we would get their cakes (Celeb. was the store's cake vendor) for all birthday celebrations or even by the slice just because we wanted to.  Maybe the girl that answered the phone was having a bad day, but it left a really bad taste in my mouth.....that even their yummy cake wouldn't remove! ;)

I'm really glad you had such great service, though!

I've booked Cakes by Creme de la Creme. Out of the 20 or so cakes at the open tasting we went to, we had a really hard time deciding. Their cakes are delicious, but beautiful, too. They are a little pricier than some others, but they give you a top tier for free for your anniversary!
