Vendor Reviews for 3/3/12 Wedding

All I have to say is that we are relieved it's over. We had a good time, but the few weeks leading up to were rough. In the end everything came together better than we ever could have expected. My vendors are a little spread out, but all worth the drive.

VENUE-GEORGETOWN BALLROOM-SEATTLE, WA
A
We wanted a unique space, and we got it. We had a fairly large wedding, about 210, and needed a large venue. They hold up to 300 and have an open vendor policy which was awesome. The space has decor all over, so you need to add very little decorations yourself. There is a large Bride loft and a large Groom loft, so we were each able to have our quiet time. We also were able to do the reveal with the photog outside where it's nice and quite and has a lot of character for pictures. The venue came with wedding coordinators who had ALL of the tables and chairs set up when we got there and the transitions went very smoothly. There are two bathrooms for use and a large kitchen. Not everyone will like the fact that it isn't traditional, but we couldn't have been happier.

OFFICIANT-DARYL EIDINGER-HOPE CHURCH-EDGEWOOD, WA

He worked with us every step of the way and although we have different beliefs, we were able to find a very happy medium. He was my husband's Fire Chaplain for years, so they have a personal relationship which made the process so much better.

PHOTOGRAPHY-BENJ HAISCH PHOTOGRAPHY
A
We looked for months for the right one, and I have no doubt that all of our pictures will turn out beautiful. He has a unique style and point of view and was so helpful getting everyone organized on the day of. He gives easy direction and makes you feel very comfortable. He also had his brother as another photographer and he always had a smile on his face. The venue is low light, so we needed someone with the skill to capture every moment. So excited to see the finished product.

CATERING-MR. RICK'S CATERING-UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA
A
Catering prices are insane. We were so stressed about the cost of feeding possibly 250 people. Rick catered our friends wedding and they had a good experience, so we called him up. He is busy, so it took about 2 weeks for him to get back, but we had a great conversation and had the ball rolling right away. He sent us awesome menu ideas and the prices began at $8.95 per person! Our menu was pulled pork sliders, bacon and blue cheese burger sliders, hot wings, deep fried mac and cheese balls, 2 awesome salads, caprese salad, and fruit and veggie platter. The food was amazing and the mac and cheese was a huge hit. Rick was on time and food was hot and ready with a great presentation. The price was SO reasonable and we couldn't have been happier.

DESSERT-LEGENDARY DONUTS-LAKE TAPPS, WA
A
The donuts were the biggest hit of our wedding. We did a few hundred donut bites and donut holes. They make unique donuts (like VooDoo Donuts in Portland) like bacon maple bars, snickers, cheesecake and everything delicious you can imagine. We ordered 300 donut bites (about the size of half a donut) and 100 donut holes and they offer tiers to use for free (unless you break them) and everything was $200! It was colorful and unique. Our his and hers donuts were amazing, mine had a veil and eyelashes put on and his had a bowtie and little glasses on it (since he wears them). Cake sucks and cupcakes are expensive, donuts are the way to go!

FLOWERS-QFC-WENDY-SILVERDALE, WA
B
Wendy wasn't easy to work with at first. It took her a few weeks of me calling to get the information from her and communication was difficult. I did stay on it though and we got all of the kinks worked out. At the end the flowers looked great, but she did charge me $250 more than what she initially told me. The centerpieces were incredible though, so I shouldn't complain. The price was right.

DJ-PRESTIGE DJ-LAKE TAPPS, WA (YOU CAN FIND THEM ON FACEBOOK)
A
Music was awesome and DJ was so easy to work with. I didn't want any games,  so he just played the music we wanted and made sure our wedding was right on time. He works with his wife and there is no cheesy to this DJ.

MAKEUP-OFF WHITE MAKEUP-MEGAN-SEATTLE, WA
B-
I really really like Megan, she is so sweet and easy to work with. We did our trial in their little studio, and it was not very clean or organized. I'm not a germ freak or anything, but when things are going on your skin and in your eyes, you want them to be clean. She seemed like her tools were clean, but she shares the space with 6 other girls and they do not clean up after themselves. Trial went great and loved the airbrush make up. On the day of she got set up and going a few minutes late, but the hair stylist was late too so it worked out fine. One of my brides maids does not wear makeup, and she was nervous about having someone do it for her. Her makeup was amazing and she was thrilled. My eye makeup looked great, but some of it hadn't been totally cleaned up under my left eye so it looked like i had a dark circle under one eye. She also didn't cover up my blemishes which was the whole reason i hired someone to do my make up. I asked her to cover some spots, and she did in some places, but then it changed the look of the airbrush foundation and it wasn't even or blended. I had to fix it up after she left, which bummed me out. The eyeshadow creased pretty badly a few hours later, but the overall look was still nice. I feel bad for the negative review, but I'm just being honest.

Thanks to the knotties who helped me out when i needed it.
