It's possible that this is the dumbest question ever

I don't know why, but I am really worried about having a farmer's tan by the time of my wedding. I don't wear a lot of tank tops, and the cut of my dress shows my entire arms and has a wide plunging neck.  Plus, the night before the wedding, our rehearsal bbq is on a rooftop deck. I think for that I will shoot for finding a strapless/tube top party dress....any ideas for avoiding awkward tan lines before the wedding day?

I'm worried about this too.  Sooo....I'm going to buy a chaise lounge and the first free, sunny day I have, I will be laying in the sun!  For days where I'll be wearing tank tops I'm gonna be uber conservative and get the higest SPF possible when out in the sun.  I'm also going to buying a couple strapless tops to wear for days I might be in the sun but not tanning per se. :)

I'm fake baking for this sole reason. I'm going to mexico with my bms in the beginning of july, and I need a good base before that so I don't get lines.

I'm not going to lie... I've had a dream that I got a terrible farmers tan and I couldn't get rid of it in time. Lol!

I am going tanning about 5 times the month prior to the wedding to avoid this!! I don't want tan lines either! I do wear a lot of strapless tops in the summer anyways (my dress is strapless) so that will help. I also wear a lot of tank tops, so I am worried about getting strap tan lines more than tee shirt sleeve tan lines... all the same though! I don't want them!!
I just plan on going tanning and then when I am out in the sun I will either wear strapless tops or heavy sun block, like tygirljojo suggested.

not the dumbest question ever. its a great one!

i'd switch up wearing different tops, different bathing suit styles.. not always a halter.. i hate those tan lines. and i would be VERY generous with sun screen like tygirl suggested.

although tanning beds are great, they don't always cover up random tan lines so just be extra careful.

I was just thinking about this the other day.  My dad has a boat and I was thinking maybe we could spend the day on the boat for the bach, but then what if I get funky tan lines?

I think switching up the tops and tanning will help.  Don't forget sunblock if you've got on something with funky lines.  And if you do have some lines, I'm sure makeup can fix it.

this is exactly why i'm going tanning before i really start hanging out outside. my skin is so fair, that if i get tan lines before I have a base, then there is absolutely no hope in getting rid of them for the entire summer, no matter how much I try. :)

That's why I got my airbrush tanning right before the wedding. To even out my arms and chest. (and give me a slight warmth/glow since I am normally the color of a saltine cracker!)

Yep, I would suggest Mystic Tanning or Airbrush Sunless Tanning. It's usually around $30 I think? I have never done it and so I would suggest trying it out first wayyy before the wedding to see how you look with it and how your skin reacts, etc. Then if it goes well, do it for the wedding! :)

if you go the route of getting a spray tan, i highly suggest 2 things:
    1) do a test run now, so you know how your body reacts to it.
    2) have someone actually spray you. i feel that they do a better job than the stand-up machine things. they can accentuate certain parts, and make sure to not put too much in one area.
those are just my suggestions.... i like spray tans, but they dont last all that long. at least not for me.
