Seattle Reception Sites

Hi, I'm looking for an indoor/outdoor venue in or around the Seattle area for our late-night reception/party. There will be anywhere from 100 to 200 people invited and we want to be able to keep the party going till late (2-3am). Our budget is flexible. I haven't been able to find anything with this criteria that is still close to Seattle. Help! Does anyone have any ideas?

Until 2-3am is probably the trickiest part (as I'm sure you are aware).  What do you mean by "around the Seattle area"? And without knowing what the actual budget is, I'll just start listing places I can think of that are indoor/outdoor that can accomodate up to 200: Cedarbrook Lodge, Newcastle Country Club, the Space Needle.  My guess is you'll have better luck with a place that isn't a part of a hotel (guessing most hotels won't rent past a certain time due to not wanting to possibly distrub guests).

Another one of the big problems with a 2-3am end time with an indoor/outdoor place is noice ordinances. Most towns have laws about what time noise needs to stop and with an outdoor place, this wouldn't work, but you could probably get away with it if you had a fully indoor reception. The Edgewater Hotel allows til 12am...but honestly I think that is going to be the latest the majority of places will allow. :-/

What about doing a reception til midnight and having a pre-planned after-party event at a nearby club, lounge, etc? This is something that could even be included in the invitation as "other related events" or on a "reception" insert...or something like that. It could say, reception til midnight. After party immediately following at _______ (insert place)

Just an idea. Do you think that all 200 guests will stay until 3am? IMO not all would, so an after party might be a good option.

My first thought is to check Fireseed Catering on Whidbey Island. You might have some luck there since it's kind of in the sticks. I'll keep thinking, though.

Sullivan's Steakhouse has an amazing outdoor space in downtown Seattle.  We are open until 2am every night.  Sullivan's is located on the ground floor of Two Union Square (6th & Union).  The outdoor courtyard would be perfect for a July wedding reception.  It has a gorgeous waterfall and plenty of space to be creative.  Pleae contact Lori Carchedi at 206-494-4444 or seattlecatering@steakco.com.  I look forward to speaking with you.  CONGRATULATIONS!

We are having our reception at The Georgetown Ballroom. The standard is a hard out at 12, but we added an extra hour to the end (for more $) so we can have the party run until midnight and have the out at 1am. So, that's not quite partying until 2am, but I think it's worth checking out and asking. I never thought about noise before - there is an outdoor patio area, though. It's a pretty industrial area, so maybe no one complains. I'm feeling like I should ask about this now!
