Shadi Paradise or Stylish Events?

I spoke both to Shadi Paradise and Stylish Events. Both gave me almost the same estimates. Both seemed professional, but i saw few horrible reviews about Shadi Paradise. Can anyone help me with this. Does anyone have any experience with either of them. I read that Shadi Paradise charges you more after you sign contract. Is that true? Who does a better job?

Well I just signed with them and they seem really good.  My cousin and friend used them as well for their events and were very pleased with the service.  The décor was definitely above average, my cousins was actually pretty nice, a live waterfall, never seen something like it before. I know one person who used Stylish events but the décor was typical, pillars and a backdrop, I went with Shadi because their offering something different and unique which I appreciate.  Tired of going to friends parties where all you see is a pillar and a tired backdrop.  Lets see how my event comes out,  I’ve seen their work in person, so I’m not too worried.  Price wise they we’re reasonable, The price is written in the contract so I don’t see how they can ask for more, its in black and white.  I would say go with them, but at the end of the day its up to you.

Thank you Manisha. That really helps. It's more assuring when someone has seen the work in person. I'm completely against pillars and the typical backdrops. I liked Shadi's ideas because they were simple yet elegant. some of their mandaps were gorgeous.

Your welcome.  Personally speaking, I rather go with a company when I feel like they know where im coming from and can relate,  I never met with Stylish events, but I met with a few other companies, they they were older men and women, not to say anything bad about them, but it seemed like they were just trying to sell me their pre-existing stages, With Shadi I felt like they figured out what I wanted and delivered the concept.  Their a yonger couple so they know the new trends and whats in.  The designer, I forgot her name, but she seems like she knows what shes talking about when it comes to designs and colors. If you want to get a better idea of their work, I would recommend seeing it on facebook, they have a good collection of work, its much more than whats on their website. Well good luck, this wedding planning is driving me crazy.  Im looking for a good photographer and dj that aren't too expensive, if you come across one, please let me know.

    Thanks

check my review on Shadi Paradise (vendor reviews NY/NJ). For those of you who hired them, I really hope your experience is not similar to mine. I hate to say that Yelp review wasn't too far off

Wow, this is a pretty bad review about them.  Im surprised because they did my sisters wedding last year and it was phenomenal, they also did two of my friends weddings this year, and both of them were great also.  I was really looking forward to hiring them for my event as well but this review just got me scared.  I’m planning on doing a destination wedding, this is freakin me out.  I wonder what they have to say about this.  I’m a little afraid to ask them, it must be a touchy subject but I need to know what happened.  I want to make sure my event goes smoothly. I told my fiancé to call them tomorrow to get the scoop.  Ill have him do my dirty work hehe ;).  My experience with them so far has been amazing so I have to give them the benefit of the doubt

Check out what my friend had to say

So My fiancé spoke to them, I was on the line as well.  Apparently this bride changed her entire decorations 4 times with less than a month to go.  They said she finalized her wedding literally 3 days before her event and still made changes on the day of.  She also had an outdoor wedding, and the weather was awful, the bride told them it would be changed to indoors due to rain, but changed her mind last minute to outdoors again.  Basically nothing was finalized until day of the event.  The bride was basically winging her own wedding. They order, and returned allot of linens and flowers last minute for her and did everything she asked to make her happy.  They said they have so much proof that you’ll get tired reading it, lol she gave her events timeline sheet a night before  nnnnnn l when they were out taking care of another event. Yikes !!!! how bizarre.

On a good note, I asked for a couple of references based on this brides review and they obliged.  I contacted three of the brides and they all had really good things to say.  All of them were from March and April dates, which is impressive, atleast they are not giving me hand picked clients from last year :).  This shows consistent good work on their end.  That’s important.

I’m content, based on my experience with them in the past with my sister and friends weddings plus these referrals my heart is finally at ease,  whew!!!!!!.  Now I can breath :).  I was so scared.  There are so few good decorators in the tri-state area, unless you get lucky and hit the jackpot with David Tuterra, My Fair Wedding .  Fingers crossed I applied for his show.  Hey you never know, :) This company is the only one I think that can pull off something comparable to his work, I’ve seen it in person, and they don’t cost an arm and a leg.

Well that’s my verdict girls, inspection complete hehe.  Good luck to all of you.  This marriage better last, lol Planning a wedding is soooooooooooooo stressssfulllllllll!!!!!

    And for Manisha,

Honestly, I couldn't understand how the beautiful pictures could be done poorly. It is strnage with them because my friend used them and had a great experience. She even told me she would be shocked if they screwed my wedding up, and I hired them because I of course, trust my friend. But, they totally messed up my wedding. And, I had an excellent relationship with them prior to my wedding. I even told them how bad I felt that the review on yelp by New B was so abusive towards them when they seem so great!

I think with them, it is a crapshoot. You can be the lucky bride who gets their best or the unlucky one that gets their worst. I truly and genuinely hope you girls get their best if you choose them. Because, they never even responded to my email to them and definitely did NOT give me my money back even though they didn't give me stuff that was in my contract.

This is too much reading for me lol.. sorry!..

Honestly, my friends and family members have used them in the past and I know exactly what I will be getting. I can see the pain you went through and I'm sorry that you had to go through this but I dont know what went wrong to be honest. every person will have there side to everything thats just how nature of any business is.

I dont want to read all this stuff anymore, not only are you making me feel uncomfortable about all this its just bringing my happiness down. I want to be happy for my wedding and I know exactly what I'm getting.. I feel like all this information is just leading me no wherre except an unhappy bride.

I know they dont photoshop there images I have seen there work in person. so I dont see how things can be photoshop to that extent. I dont mean to take any one side but i dont want to hear negative things because its just makes any bride not feel good about there upcoming wedding and thats exactly what you keep doing..

Whatever relationship and problems you went through I can see it was alot but I want a happy wedding day and alll this information non-stop again again is just too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Manisha,

I am sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. My only intention is to help brides so they don't go through what I went through especially after Shadi has had several bad reviews, so it isn't just me who they did this to. And, I felt I needed to explain myself because they are making me out to seem crazy which isn't fair because I had about 10+ vendors and had no issues with anyone else.

Either way, it doesn't matter. I am just trying to look out. Good luck with your wedding and I truly hope you have a fantastic day!
