Hair and Makeup Trial: A Must?

I will be in India 15 days prior to my wedding(in India) and I really will have a lot on my plate when I get there.
Should I make time for a hair and makeup trial or is it OK to just discuss the different looks with my MUA. Did you do Hair/Make Up trials? If you didn't, how did it work out?

Do you know who your hair and makeup person will be? If you know them and your family or friends have used them before and have good things to say about them and  if it's totally not possible to fit the trials into your schedule, then I think it would be ok to skip it.

Otherwise, I would recommend doing the trials. It's an important day and every bride wants to look her best, so having a trial to see whether it's something you will like is worth it to me.

It all really depends on how comfortable you are trusting the person to do what you are envisioning. Will you have time to at least chat with the person to make sure they know what you want?

I would still recommend a trial - is it possible to get a trial before the 15 days, take a lot of pictures, take down the colors used, and then when in India, get it done?

@ Raangoli My family doesn't know the MUA I am planning to hire. He does have a body of work online for all to see. I saw one of his brides on Maharani weddings and he did a good job on her. So, I kinda trust him. Also, I am planing to have a consultation, I will carry lots of pictures with me. But you are right, I'll see if I can make time for a trial.

@kp That's another thing I am worried about- what if he cannot replicate what I want/wat's in pictures and ends up doing something inbetween. I plan on showing him what I like and ask for his suggestions on what he can do

I would try to squeeze in a trial run. I wouldn't leave something that important to chance.

Trupti, I agree with Mrs Khan, how your face reacts to make up is crucial, even if you've had it before...  Also, if you do get a trial (highly recommended), take a lot of pictures, to capture your look :)

Thanks ladies. I agree its important and I am going to go for it. I thought, it can't be that bad, I mean I can always ask him to fix it if I didn't likt it but I realise there won't be any time for experiments on the day of. I better be prepared. I don't want to look at my pictures and regret.

I think a trial is a good idea, the thing is even if you trust him you might not like the look you have in mind on yourself on the day of the wedding. I highly suggest like other girls get a trial, you will feel much better knowing on the day what your look will entail.
