To go with our fashion must haves from last week

So I was reading yet another article on must-have...pants.  So basically what I got from this is...you must own all styles of pants.  My grandma was totally a fan of printed and bright colored pants...

  • I'd agree with most of that article, except that I dont think I have ever seen a pair of printed pants worn well that was not part of a halloween or dance costume. Colored pants also need to be careful, you have to make sure its a flattering color and doesnt clash with the outfit.
Im also pretty much a style traditionalist, I dont think Id be daring or bold enough to try those.

  • I agree with all but the patterned pants.

I LOVE the new wide-leg trouser trend. I think this looks awesome with a pair of chunky platform heels.

  • I like them, too.  I'm not crazy about boyfriend jeans though...I think they look frumpy no matter what they're paired with

  • I don't get BF jeans either. I think the only time it looks remotely good is if you're really thin and petite, like Rachel Zoe or Nicole Richie.

I'm so tall that when I've tried them on they just look like normal, ill-fitting jeans, lol.

  • Those wide leg trousers looked very cute! I do need a pair..!

  • I love the wide-leg trouser-style - but

I think that one just looks...weird

  • I agree about the BF jeans, most girls can't pull them off.
I'm a firm believer in a pair (or two) of nice jeans...like 7's or citizens and a few pair of nice slacks/trousers/whatever you want to call them.
As for the bright jean/patterned pant trend...I'd probably not spend a lot of money on those since it's a trend.
So, my point is; invest in pieces that won't go out of style and save on trendy pieces.

  • wide leg trousers/work pants are my go-to style!!!! i swear, they are flattering on nearly every body shape. express has some awesome wide-leg styles of their editor pant right now!

i have a pair of seriously BRIGHT yellow trouser pants and i get so many compliments when i wear them.  patterns can be fun too if done right!

i am also LOVE LOVE LOVE high waisted pants....they make tops so much easier to tuck in and can make a small waist look even smaller.  maybe i am just weirdly shaped but i have trouble keeping dress shirts tucked into lower-rise dress pants which is just another perk of the high waist trend :)
  • I love my wide-leg pants.  I picked up a couple pairs after Christmas definitey my go to pants for work.  I also love my dark wash jeans.  I had a pair of boyfriend jeans and they just never looked right at all on me.

  • Ooh I really like BF jeans, actually. I think they are comfy and work really well with cute stilettos and a fitted blazer. I don't like when girls wear them with boots, though. That's when it starts looking frumpy to me. I guess you just need to dress up the shoes and tops you pair with them to make them work.
