Ceremony Entrance Song?

Hi everyone,I wanted to get your opinion on an Indian ceremony entrance song. I don't want to do the traditional music. I am looking for something slow and romantic but still indian. We are doing the traditional south indian entrance but I want more modern music.Any suggestions!? Thanks

We used a super traditional south indian song so I"m not much help haha.  How about that one from 1942 Love Story?  It's pretty overdone at all the north indian and muslim weddings I've been to, but I've never heard it at a south indian ceremony.  Plus, it's a classic!

Smitha, not sure which South Indian language(s) you're familiar with, but there's a song I really love from Alai Payuthey (Sakhi in Telugu, Saathiya in Hindi), when the couple gets married. It's called Mangalyam Thanthuna You can listen to it here: http://www.raaga.com/channels/tamil/moviedetail.asp?mid=T0000209

I had my BMs walk out to "Tere Bina" which was my second choice for my entrance.  I walked out to Jiya Dhadak, but that has a more traditional feel to it i think. I personally love Latika's theme from Slumdog Millionaire, I'm using that as the music for our wedding recap video.   GL!

I also plan on having the BMs walk out to Tere Bina. I wanted instrumental for my entrance and so am going with the instrumental version of Jashn-e-Bahaara from Jodhaa Akbar. I love it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsJHLFf_nco

A friend used Tere Ore as her processional song, which was beautiful. You could also look at the songs on the Swades songtrack. Some beautiful stuff there.

which of these are instrumental? I also need ideas for an entrance song (do you need one from walking out too?) I'll have a south Indian wedding ceremony at 9AM.I'm catholic so the only entrance song I'm familiar with is Ave Maria....which I love, but won't go with my Indian wedding. I like how the sita sounds....Please any ideas, Thanks!!!

I did some research and found some beautiful sitar songs by anoushka shankar I recalled that I've hear her song with her sister Nora Jones: Easy . "Easy" won't go for an entrance song but it is very beautiful. I hope I can use that for the ceremony, now, how do I set it up? a DJ? an Ipod? my wedding is in the morning fowlled by a reception but no dance. During the reception I was planning to have a trio or someone playing guitar or harp which are traditional from my South Americam culture...
