The Mandap Has Landed!

Well, not entirely, but I did just order 50 yards of a really pretty dark pink/magenta-colored charmeuse-y fabric for a great price! I'm considering going flower-less on the mandap since it will already be in such a vibrant color, but I'm scared of the FIL reaction. Thoughts?

I have seen plenty of flowerless ones with beautiful draped fabric. You can always just do two vases of flowers on the two sides just to have some if you are worried or flower petals on the ground. Kind of like this without the ferns on the top: http://www.sawnet.org/weddings/sonia002.jpg Also where are you ordering your fabric from? is it online?

I got the fabric from a local store.  I'm in NC, so fabric prices here are pretty good.  I'm happy to sell it to someone after the wedding, though, if anyone's interested.

Agreed, flowers definitely aren't necessary with bright, pretty, draped fabric.I am so impressed with all your DIYing!!
