Introduction Songs

Hi ladies -- I know we have talked about this before so if you guys know where, please just send me the link to the post! I was wondering what you folks picked for the following: Bridal Party Introduction song(s) at the Reception Parents of the Bride/Groom introduction at the Reception Bride/Groom intro at the Reception Father/Daughter dance -- did you guys go SA or not? Thanks... it's getting to be crunch time! My dad and I spent 3 hours yesterday on table assignments -- who knew that would such a pain. And that was just the first draft.

Bridal Party Introduction song(s) at the Reception  - We didn't have a BP - just siblings, parents and grandparents;  We used Muse "Knights of Cydonia" (first minute or so of the song which is just really hyped up instrumental)Parents of the Bride/Groom introduction at the Reception  - see aboveBride/Groom intro at the Reception  - Justin Timberlake "My Love" Father/Daughter dance -- did you guys go SA or not?   Tim McGraw "My Little Girl"You're getting so close!  Table assignments were thankfully not too bad for us.  Placecards on the other hand were a nightmare to make haha

We just did one song for all the intros.  I've never actually been to a wedding where people have different songs for the different players in the wedding (although I definitely have seen one song for bridal party/parents/grandparents and then something different for the bride and groom).  Our entrance song was "Gigantic," by the Pixies.  The DJ timed the big swell in the song for our entrance.  Hubs loves the Pixies and this was one of the things he actually made a big deal about for the wedding (that and a Spiderman cake topper).

We haven't decided yet if we'll have the bridal party introduced. I'm not SA and am Southern and have never seen the parents introduced with music. Ours are probably a little shy for that, so I'm sure we'll skip it. As for us, though, we were thinking about Wouldn't It Be Nice by the Beach Boys. (I wanted the intro to "Eye of the Tiger" but FI thinks it should be sort of romantic.) But then yesterday I started thinking we could/should go SA with it and I think I convinced FI to switch it to my fave Janu Meri Jaan! (This is ironic because he's SA and I'm not.) The dj will probably talk during the intro/disco-y part, and then we'll actually walk in as "Amitabh" starts singing. On the father-daughter dance I'm using "The Wonder of You" by Elvis Presley.

crunch time - yay! table assignments was a pain for us but on mustve done it like 4 times! but all good fun times now that i look back on it :) For the bridal party (our BMs, GMs, and siblings) we let the DJ pick an upbeat bollywood song, along the lines of that Desi Girl song, but dont remember what we actually ended up with. His parents walked out to "Sexy Back" My parents walked out to the hook from "Swagga like us" - i really wanted my parents and only my parents to walk out to that song.  Shoooot to host the party they did that night...nobody has swagga like them! And for our grand entrance, it was "The Way I Are".  Father/Daughter, we didnt get to do one b/c my dad just felt soooo uncomfortable.  But I had a non-SA song picked out b/c it was hard for me to find a good hindi song that worked.

We are doing O Saya by MIA and I gotta a feeling by the black eyed peas for the bridal party entrance.Debating between Isn't she lovely by Stevie Wonder, Unforgettable by Nat/Natalie King Cole and What a Wonderful World for the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance.  Both FI and I don't love being the center of attention for dancing so we are doing it together.  My dad asked if we could do a dance class together though, so we may try and make it fun since he loves ballroom dancing.

We didn't do a BP intro or Parents intro or a father/daughter dance.  We just did the bride/groom intro at the Reception, and we used the instrumental version of "Bittersweet Symphony"  - it was gorgeous and dramatic!
