Average costs for...

What are/did you guys pay for the following:

1. Pandit Services
2. Photographer/Videographer
3. DJ

We are trying to keep within our budget and have already cut out the horse, doli, and CUT our guest list in half....I don't want us to have any arguments with each other or parents at the end of it all....Thanks!!

    1. Pandit - No idea.  My FMIL is organizing the pandit (we're having a day-after puja rather than an Indian wedding ceremony).

    2. Photography - $3000, includes a lot of prints plus 10 hours of coverage, and that's apparently a bargain for our area (Miami/Palm Beach metro).  We know our photographers socially, so that's how we found them.

    3. DJ - for five hours, plus uplighting, I am getting quotes around $1000.

    Hi There

Pundit I think was about 800 for the day (but this was not the price he quoted just what both in terms of what they felt was appropriate to dontate)

Photog was just under 4000 for 7am to 11pm shooting + plus an engagement shoot This included ALL proofs and no watermarks and a coffee table book

Video was just over 3000 which included 7am - 11pm shooting and one pre wedding event...

We had he DJ for the entire day and it cost about 1000 (which did no include any lighting as we got that thru the venue)

Our pandit was 1250 which is probably high, but he was definitely worth it.

Photog was 3300 which included our engagement session where he literally spent the entire day with us. Not necessarily photographing, but it was great to get to know him. And all day coverage for the wedding day. We will have full rights to the photos as well.

We opted not to have a videographer and I don't regret it. In fact our photog took some videos during our reception of people dancing. That was super sweet of him!

DJ and uplighting came out to 2700.

    1. Pandit Services -- will not have.

    2. Photographer/Videographer -- $3,500. 2 video/2 photo for 12hours. Two Engagement shoots, 2 canvas prints, 3 books, 3 copies of the dvd and all rights.
    3. DJ- $1,000 this was the cheapest we found who did Indian music for 8 hours.
