Mandaps - Fancy Florist

Has any one ever heard of or used the company "Fancy Florist" for mandaps?

Here is their website: http://www.fancyflorist.com/index.php

I was trying to figure out a budget for a mandap and they have some prices listed that seem high to me, but then again I have nothing to compare it to. Was wondering if any of the gals here have heard of them, used them, etc?

Thanks!

I'm actually looking at them right now.  They are afflilated with the SV Temple in Pittsburgh (I think they send the temple their daily flowers. . .so they must be trustworthy) and I've heard good things about their service.  Price-wise they have been the second cheapest we've heard of.  There's a woman (forget her name) who did my brother's mandap and she charged $750, but honestly we could've done what she did for $300.  I think it depends what you're going for.  If you want a traditional mandap, that would be VERY hard to DIY with all those flowers, so $2000 I think is worth it (I think that's their cheapest traditional one).  If you want a modern mandap, there's IS cheaper than other quotes I've gotten (I think I've calculated $3000 for decor from fancy florists, and $6000 for decor from Mandaps by Dhoom - the other group I'm looking at).  But I also think their modern mandaps don't compare to other companies (I do think their traditional ones are the best I've seen).  For modern decor I've been quoted up to $10,000 for basic decor (Mandap, aisles, gate, sign, flowers).

Thanks for the great info, Devi! From what you've seen quoted it seems like Fancy Florist is quite reasonable.

I like the traditional styles. The more modern mandaps don't really seem to appeal to me, nor my budget! Yikes! Why are Indian weddings so darn expensive?

    Thanks again for your help!

Is that the website fancyflorist.com?  We're getting our garlands from them.  I spoke with them over the phone and they seemed nice.  The did the flowers for a friend's wedding in Detroit and she loved them.  I know for the structural pieces (mandaps, swings, and such) they only deliver in person.  I dunno if they're close to you but that might be an issue.  Good luck!

Thanks, Lil Miss! Their garlands seem nice, too! I am amazed at the jasmine that they have. I wonder if it smells as wonderful as the flowers you'd get in India...ahh the memories!

Devi - It's not too late, you can always elope in Vegas ;) It seems more and more appealing each day, hah!

So true Devi... After his wedding, my brother told me he understood why the divorce rate in India is so low - they make Indian weddings such a pain in the a$$ that you only wanna do it once!!!
