Good Websites to make photobooks

Hey Girlies!

I need to know which websites are good for creating photobooks online.  (kP I know you might now!!)  I've used shutterfly and a friend of mine has used vistaprint (I think that's what its called).  I personally felt that shutterfly was too immature looking but I LOVED the selection of layouts, colour schemes etc.

Any out sites that you can recommend?

Thanks!

    Hey!

I'd love to help you, but just need some info.

How many pages were you looking to do?
Is there a size you are looking for? (square, landscape, etc)
What type paper are you intersted in? (Lustre, glossy, matte, metallic etc)
Are you looking for a lay flat, flush mount or standard bind?
    What is your budget?

I deal with tons of vendors for wedding albums, guestbooks and simple photo books, and would like to give you some direction. Get me some details and I will share some vendors with you.

I used Inkubook.com (I've tried blurb.com, but wasn't happy with their number of layouts)  I did the one in Orange (11x11 inches, and 120 pages for $89.95... I got 3 for $200!)

I did a comparison, so I'll put them in here as well :)

For a photobook, Pixable's sizes are:
    - 8"x5.5", softcover, 16+ pages, max 375 photos, $9.95+, $0.50 for extra page
    - 8"x8", softcover, 16+ pages, max = 375 photos, $15.95+, $0.50 for extra page
    - 8"x8", hardcover, 16+pages, max = 375 photos, $24.95+, $0.50 for extra page

    - Those are the only three sizes you can have!
    - It really wants you to connect via facebook, to download pictures, which aren't the best quality... (for high quality you want 300 per pixel)
    - Themes that it has:
Love, Blue, Black, Papers, Travel, Street, Baby, Weddings, Father's day, Halloween, and Christmas.
    - you don't have to download software to add to your computer, it's inside the browser. (it uses Microsoft Silverlight)

Blurb was recommended by my photographer as well, he uses their services to make wedding albums. I just found out a little too late, but nevertheless, I'm starting a "Our trips 2009-2010" album now on inkubook" Just some coffee table books to look at you know? I don't want it to feel like the dr's office with all their magazines everywhere  ;P

    Blurb Sizes:
(this doesn't have shipping, since that varies, also doesn't include premium paper, but it's a few dollars more than the prices listed below, it may reduce the number of pages you can have, to fit in the binding)
    - without premium paper, can go up to 440 pages
    - with premium paper, can go up to 160 pages
    - has softcover, hardcover with dust jacket, and hardcover image wrap
    - Pocket 5"x8", $4.95 - $31.95
    --premium paper is n/a!
    -- up to 160 pages
    - Trade 6"x9", $4.95 - $23.95
    -- premium paper is n/a!
    -- up to 160 pages
    - Square 7"x7", $12.95- $74.95
    - Standard Portrait 8"x10" starts at $19.95 - $95.95
    - Standard Landscape 10"x8" starts at $19.95 - $95.95
    - Large Landscape 13"x11" starts at $54.95 - $169.95
    - Large Square 12"x12" starts at $59.95 - $186.95

Blurb Themes - has a lot in the software you have to download to use this.

    Inkubook:
    - prints only on premium paper
    - has either softcover or hardcover price

    Sizes:
    - Mini Brag: 7" x 5", $9.95 - $39.95+ (0-100 pgs)

Also., I just got mine in... and it looks super fantastic! I'll have to take some pictures of our album and post :)  (I did it in Inkubook)

The front and back covers had pictures and was done in glossy (you have the option of matte), with book binding.  The inside sheets were black, but has the option of white as well.  The pages are done magazine style, thin, but edge to edge with colors :)

    Hi there!

I'd love to narrow it down for you to 10-20 vendors, but without knowing your budget, I really don't think I can send you 50+ vendors with all their details and such.

Are you considering up to $100
    Up to $500
    Up to $1,000
    Up to $2,000
    Up to $3,000

I want to help, but just need a little more information.

Many of the vendors mentioned are  a lot of fun and easy to use, great for a do it yourself album, but there are other vendors that have real premium paper, that print according to ICC profiles and offer substrates inbeween pages that give it thickness. The difference is something most clients appreciate and are willing to pay more for, as the book will last much longer.

I believe all of the vendors mentioned only do standard books that have a large gutter in between, I love lay flat, you get a lot more use of the pages when you can see the whole page, and can do nice 2 page spreads without the middle of the book curling.

This is the difference between standard and layflat

I'm posting my pictures from our album :)  I have the standard as Abhi mentions above... but I don't mind at all, it's the quality of the pictures that I'm looking at!

I can take more pictures shots if you need them :)

The gist of the information is:
These pictures are from an album created by inkubook.com, and their embedded in firefox software.  I had a blast with the color schemes, borders, actual pictures, and writing in text in different formats :)

120 pages, glossy cover, black inlay, 3 copies for $200!
