Here comes the bride?!?

Hey Girls
I'm just wondering what you have seen / experienced with this....

When the indian bride is walking down the mandap....is it announced?

My families have been discussing that there should be an 'anouncement' that the bride is now walking towards the mandap?

Is there a change in music to signify that she is coming?

Thanks ladies!

Sorry I can't be too helpful, but when my friend's sister did it she didn't have anything special. She had bridemaids that went before her but that was it.

    Hey Bells & Deep...

I'm not coming in a Doli...but there is processional (there will be grooms men, my groom, bridesmaids, flower girl, ring boy...)

I don't know if our pundit ji is going to sing anything I guess I should ask.

...another detail I'll have to look into :(

    Hi!
So this is what I have seen at the various weddings I have attended:

    1. The groom is escorted to the mandap by bride's family.

    2. There is a processional, where the wedding party walks in. Usually to the beat of classical indian music like shehnai or something similar.

    3. The flower girl walks in and that is a subtle announcement that the bride is about to come.

    4. The bride is escorted by her father/cousins/brother/or other member of family. The music is changed and that definitely is an announcement in itself. Recently, I attended a wedding, where the bride had a long veil, which was carried by her cousins. Almost a train of sorts.

    Hope this helps!
