Thanks bridetobee.  Your post re: shadi paradise was really reassuring.  I have been in contact with Shadi and they have been really helpful and professional so far.  They have worked hard on the proposal.  I hope that things work out for me (I've had some bad luck with wedding planning lately) and that shadi paradise will be the "one."

    Hey TravelMal,

    I am glad to help. They also worked hard to help me with my budget and really stepped in to do a lot for me. I also had some bad luck with wedding planner as my initial wedding planner quit 2 months before my wedding and didn't do a single thing. So, I wanted to be very careful with other vendors. But, I had my venue visit with Shadi and so far, I am really happy with them. Hope it works out for you too! And, I'll answer your other questions

    They are booked for my date.  I am now looking into Abhishek... they offer really great floral options... don't know about the mandap side/whether their "props" are sufficiently modern.... But at some point I need to just compromise.  Abhishek is offering a ton of flowers within my particular budget.  I think I have decided to focus on that...
