Is there anything in particular you need help with? Planning an engagement is pretty broad - do you want something large and formal or something small and simple? Family only or every person you've met along the way?

There are plenty of wonderful ladies on this board and we'd be happy to help if we had more info to go on...

Exactly! Most of the girls have done a Formal Engagement, but depends on what you are looking for and how you want it done. For me it was like a mini - wedding and worked out well!
Also, what religion you are will effect what you do.

Thnx. And im catholic and my bf is hindu my mum is pretty complicated and she wants us to do things both ways , that have both a catholic and hindu wedding, thats fine by my bfs parents , im just trying to estimate how much it will cost to have an indian wedding? Im very familiar with the outfit anf the cost, but the others are stressfull.

I think your best bet to figure out cost is to sit down and start with a rough plan of what you want your ceremonies to look and be like. Do you want something large and grand or something small and simple? A lot of the costs will be fixed regardless of the size of your wedding like photography, the DJ, etc. But the bigger expense comes in the form of the reception cost per person.

I am not familiar with the DC area and how much things cost, but maybe some of the girls on your local board can help with that as a place to start.
