    raangoli - who did you makeup and hair? i really like!!

    @MrsBM - haha thanks!

    @merene - Marissa Pascone did my makeup (she came recommended by my photographer) and I loved her. I had her do the morning look in the pictures that are linked and I had more pinks/mauves for the evening. She's fantastic and I highly recommend her.

    My usual stylist, Brian, from Laboratory Hair Studio in Morristown did my hair.  My hair is naturally very curly so we worked with that and curled it even more to get it to look all glam like it did. I <3 him, he hates the usual, plastered to your head typical bridal hairstyles, as do I. My hair was very much touchable and had a minimal amount of pins compared to when I've had it done when I've been a bridesmaid for friends in the past.

    Your dress is so cute!  I love how it looks kind of retro and then the mehendi gives it a twist!

    I also love your sari and I am a bit biased towards saris (I think I looked better in my various Desi ensembles than my white dress LOL)... but I like the fact that yours is elegant and traditional and not gaudy/over-the-top... as someone who picks more "quiet" clothing I know that can be a challenge!

    Thanks, Tem! The reception dress was a last minute change (sort of) and I am happy that I went with it. I liked the retro look and that I was able to show off the mehndi on my feet/legs, too.

    Finding my wedding sari was a challenge to say the least. On top of the fact that I had the better part of 1 day to find it in India, the shop keepers were telling me that what I wanted was "old fashioned" and out of style. Since when does traditional go out of style? I walked out of one sari shop after the owner tried to kick an attitude, so I kicked one right back, Jersey style :)

    His loss since I found my sari in the next shop and it was perfect. It had the paisley-esque border, the traditional elements I wanted and a bandhani style blouse that made it unique.
