Wedding Inspiration

So I'm getting closer and closer to my wedding date (yay!) and I was just looking through some pictures and blog posts that I saved as inspiration for my big day just to compare my wedding look now to my original vision.  It got me wondering if any of you brides had a photo or real wedding that inspired your wedding vibe and if you've stuck to that throughout the palnning process. And I figure this thread may help those of us who are just beginning to plan with some cool ideas :)

Well here's my inspiration:

I fell in love with this wedding immediately.  I think my wedding definitely has that fusion-y feel to it but I think I wimped out and made things a little more traditional than I initially envisioned.

That is really pretty! I'm not sure what I am wanting to do for mine. (my mother is Indian, dad is American, and engaged to an American). I was looking at having an Indian reception and an American ceremony (so that everyone would understand whats going on). Not sure yet, but that website is amazing!

I probably had a dozen inspirations before finally settling on something that wasn't anything close to any of them. I wanted a Halloween costume party with us as The Joker and Harley Quinn (SO not kidding; I even have the design sketches for my dress and his suit), a fusion wedding, peacock theme, elegant fall theme, an "offbeat" wedding with a Victorian flair, etc etc etc.

We are left with: traditional Indian outfits, but pretty evenly split wedding traditions for both cultures, ribbon roses in peacock colors, and the on Victorianish thing is my bouquet holder - it's a tussy mussy I found at my favorite antique shop. No fall theme or Halloween costume party, though we might make that the theme of an anniversary party.

Glad you all liked my inspiration, if only I could have pulled it off for myself lol.  And, yes, the pictures are definitely full of energy.  You can seriously feel how in love and how fun this couple is from just the photos.

HisBelovedOne, your wedding sounds like it's coming together very nicely.  The ribbon roses sound beautiful!

I was very impressed by this pink and chocolate brown wedding:

This was a destination wedding at a vineyard and had very creative DIY ideas.

Neha, that wedding is beautiful!  Love the pink and chocolate brown.  Initially I thought I would do pink and brown or pink and gold for my wedding but my fiance vetoed that one.  He said it's too girly :(

Hey Meela, Thanks! What colors did you finally pick? Just a random thought, have you considered chocolate brown and tiffany blue? The hottest colors this season are shades of mango/orange/marigold and turquoise. I feel these combinations are less girly. What do you think?

Neha,  we chose pink and orange with red and gold for our ceremony day and turquoise and red for the reception.  The chocolate brown and tiffany blue sounds really pretty too.  I wish I had thought of that before lol
