desi vs american outfit

Hi ladies!! I'm new to posting and relatively new to wedding planning. I'm getting married on June 25th 2011 in Tarrytown NY. I spent a weekend shopping for wedding outfits in NYC and NJ and I've found cream colored gown (with desi beadwork) that i love and one lengha I like too. I love the gown and love the way it looks on me, but I also want to be an Indian bride. If I were to go with the desi look, it would be a lengha with a medium amount of work and a corset top that's strapless or short-sleeved. I'm so torn.  Any advice??

For our (Western-style) ceremony, I'm wearing this dress: http://watters.com/product.php?coll=brides&showid=717

It's Western but pretty heavily beaded.  I'm going to pair it with mehndi, bangles, possibly formal Indian shoes, and some other Indian touches.  Plus a veil, I think!

Do you have a picture of the gown?

If you wanted to try and have a fusion dress created, there is a designer based out of the Boston area that I read about on blog: http://shubrah.com/bridal-couture.html

I love the idea of fusing the two cultures together into one outfit, maybe you could check that out?

Edited to Add: I like the two outfit idea, too. If it fits into your budget. For example, for our ceremony I will wear a traditional sari and for our reception I bought a simple wedding dress from David's Bridal. That way I get to be a bride from both of our cultures all in one night :)

Why not change? I'm wearing a white dress for the ceremony and doing a Sari for the reception. There is nothing wrong with getting both done.

Beautiful pics! Thanks for the suggestions. My ceremony will only be about 45 mins long and then we move on to the appetizers and then dinner. So I feel like a clothing change might be excessive, but not necesarrily impossible. I wish I had a pic for you guys but the desi store won't let me take one. :(
