I was just looking at your bio (I don't know why I hadn't seen it before). Are you really going to have the valima on the boat? That looks awesome!!

Yes, since he sails on ships and tankers for a living.  I thought it would be kind of cool, for us to do our reception on a ship.  I also wanted to get away from the whole having everything done at a hotel, while its fine, I just wanted something kind of different.  The ship sails around Lake Michigan for like four hours or so, and they also pass by many chicago attraction and I think some of our OOT guest would really appreciate and so would the guests in town.

My biggest worry is that we won't be the only party on board.  The ship has like 3 other floors open and they leave on a strict time to leave the docks and you know desi people, notoriously late and especially when its a wedding.  I am just worried about people being left behind because they are working on desi time.

Oh man!  Good point.  I hope that it will all work out.
I guess if they know they won't be getting dinner unless they catch the boat, maybe they will be on time??? Even that's a stretch (coming from somone who is also notoriously late).

My sister is notoriously late.  When she says 15 mins, we all go with half hour.  If she says half hour its 45-1hr.  LOL.  I have been thinking about having a bus or something to pick everyone up from the same spot at a certain time and that way people won't be looking for parking or lost in downtown or something like that.  But I haven't budgeted for that.  Also, I feel like they are adults, they should be able to figure it out and should be there in time when you are suppose to be.  I hope dinner is a great incentive for them to be on time.  But we were also thinking about doing middle eastern food for dinner, because we will have the desi style food for mehndi and shaadi.  I just want something different for reception.  I am sure desi uncle and aunties won't be happy about that.  Its still an idea though.
