Show Me The Curry

So...I'm well into my 'cooking' lessons when it comes to Indian food. Mainly it's because I love my Mom's food and want to know how to recreate it and the way to my man's heart is to his stomach. It's been an interesting journey so far but my Mom recently directed me to Showmethecurry.com and we made the Vegetable Manchurian last night. It was AMAZING.

It made a lot of things easier for me. It's two women who show you how to make dishes (veg, non veg, all kinds) via a video and they have the measurements written down. I really liked it and had to pass it on to any of you ladies. If I can do it, anyone can.

It's been fun so far...no real kitchen blunders. I'm learning as much as I can for a first try and then will re-create the dishes again. I don't plan on cooking everyday, but, I'd like to know how to make my future kitchen smell as amazing as mine does at home!

I hope this is helpful to some of you...How is cooking going for you? Are you learning? Not?

I love Show Me the Curry - I made their Falooda and it was awesome!  I also go by the step by step instructions of  Rak's Kitchen which is primarily South Indian food... I put my own twist on it to make it healthier, less oil, and more vegetables :)

I'm from the Caribbean with descendants to North India... So we have our own flavor of cooking, but with the amount of oil they use, blech, it's just better to be heatlhy!  DH is from South India, and I do try to experiment on him, most have been quite successful!

    I love this post!

    Thanks for the link Sonali!

I love all the detailed instructions :)

Have any of you heard that it is not 'good' to cook with Olive Oil... meaning as soon as it heats up ...it looses it's health benefits?

I had never heard of this site, but it looks pretty helpful, thanks for sharing!

@MrsBM, I think I have heard that, but I can't remember where. I still prefer it to vegetable or canola oil though.
