Would you ever...?

Would you ever want your wedding featured in a magazine or on a website? I know a lot of brides who have said no to this. My bf says he isn't sure about the idea either, but I don't know. After all that planning and all those hours, I can't blame a bride who wants to share her big day with anyone who wants to see it!

I don't know.  I have heard both sides of the argument, but I havent figured out where I fall into.  So I am going to stick to the middle ground for now, neither here nor there.  LOL.

I'm not a fan of how closed-minded some people can be about weddings that don't fit the prescribed traditions and standards. Ours doesn't fit many of those standards, and as of now, there is only one wedding-planning site where I would feel comfortable submitting our wedding because of how snarky and judgmental people can be in more "traditional" planning communities.

I hear ya, HisBelovedOne. People should keep their stuffy opinions to themselves and take joy in the unique aspects of weddings, not try to find fault in them!

I am always amazed when I see people's wedding featured in magazines. I ooh and ahh at them and marvel at the planning, creativity (and money) that went into it. I wouldn't mind if it could help other brides plan their day as well.

Ditto Raangoli, and it also depends on how private of a person you are, some peope are not that comfortable the most intimate part of their lives (the wedding) to be viewed by many, while others want everyone to share in their celebration of their wedding.

Hina, you have a point. I guess when I think about wedding being featured, I think more towards the decor side of things with a few pictures of the couple, etc. There was an Indian fusion wedding that was featured in Martha Stewart Wedding magazine - the one for the year - and it was beautiful. There was just one picture of the bride and groom, and more focused on the details of the day.

Yeah, I agree. I would want the decor to be in there. I didn't think it'd be anything too personal, anyway.

No...not really...no reason in particular...other than I just like to have control over what information I share...

I've always wanted our wedding - carefully selected pictures in the maharani wedding website - they don't show Arizona weddings, and it would give a great perspective from the US Southwest, and what it takes for a wedding to be put together.

I've mentioned several times over to the vendors that we used, if they need a great referral for a new client, send them to me - I go overboard in the details, show them the pictures, and, they come back for more advice in planning a wedding, without the usual suspects - the vendors that have their "special vendor" lists that no one else can see until you sign over your shoes, and be done with it!

After a wedding like ours, and from the boards, and going through all of the research, I share advice, freely.

I would be so excited to see our wedding pictures put on a magazine. I am not sure how to do it but we do not have any shame. I would hope that the magazine would not show any pictures where we looked bad like unflattering angles but I would be happy to help other brides for ideas for planning, of course!
