the final checklist

so with just 10 days to go I am going into "checklist" mode.

Although everything has been looked over, I find myself doing it over and over again.

photographer
mandap
dholi
pandit
dj
special songs
catering
centerpieces
linens
rings
gifts
guestbook
horse

one thing I almost forgot was I wanted to get nice envelopes to use when negotiating for my shoes, etc. I got to pick them up still.

For those who already went through this, did you forget anything? If so, what did you forget?

Yep, anxiety has officially kicked in.

    I would make a list of things that you are bringing to the venue, an inventory of sorts, and give that to your venue coordinator. Then put any special notes for things on how you want them to be displayed like favors, the seating cards, etc.

    It was helpful for me to see what we brought over to them and what needed to come back with us and whether it was returned at the end of the night (or the next AM when I was finally less frazzeled to look things over.)

    Maybe bring a back up pair of shoes in case your negotiation fails ;)

    And I know you're a photographer by trade, but maybe a list of things you definitely want photographed. We had a lot of those things but they got "lost" in the fray and I am sad that we didn't do it.

    What about your favors (your donation notes)? Programs?

    We had checklists for the ceremony and reception venues like Raangoli mentioned.  I packed the boxes beforehand, but since I wasn't the one transporting them or setting up, I included lists for people to confirm we didn't forget things.

    For the church we just needed the programs, rings, license, and "reserved" seating signs.  The reception checklist is below:

    Reception Checklist

    Deliver

    Favors

    Seating Cards

    Place Cards

    Table Numbers

    Menu Cards

    Centerpieces

    Cake Server

    Toasting Flutes

    Guest Book

    Pen

    Place cards for Head table

    iPods

    Pick Up

    Leftover favors

    Stray seating cards, place cards, and menu cards

    Table Numbers

    Centerpieces

    Cake Server

    Toasting Flutes

    Guest Book

    Pen

    Clothing – Cristina’s coat, scarf, and extra clothes, Kaushik’s extra clothes, Rabeya’s extra clothes

    Other personal items from side room (makeup, emergency kit, water bottles, etc.)

    Gifts

    iPods

    Other flower arrangements

    Bouquets

    Head Table (there was a diagragm of the seating here)

    Table Names

    1 = Red Rackham’s Treasure

    2 = The Seven Crystal Balls

    3 = King Ottokar’s Sceptre

    4 = Cigars of the Pharoah

    5 = Land of Black Gold

    6 = Tintin in Tibet

    7 = The Secret of the Unicorn

    8 = The Blue Lotus

    9 = Destination Moon

    10 = The Castiofiore Emerald

    Guest Book Table

    Guest Book

    Pen

    Wood Table

    Orange seating cards in alphabetical order

    Head Table

    Peacock place cards at the top of each plate

    Menu cards, alternating blue and orange, start from left on blue – on top of napkin and plate

    Favors on top of menu cards, 1 at each place setting

    Cake Table

    Toasting flutes

    Cake servers

    Guest Tables

    Menu cards, alternating blue and orange, on top of napkin and plate

    Favors on top of menu cards, 1 at each place setting

    Centerpiece – one per table in the center of the lazy suzan.  The Yank Sing will provide a votive candle on each table.  This should be next to the centerpiece.

    Table numbers – one per table according to chart.  The Yank Sing will provide wire holders on each table.

    I will also second Raangoli's suggestion about photos.  There are definitely some shots I wish I'd gotten, like more of my friends, and I don't really know how I should have done that, but you probably know what to ask for.

    Those are great lists you got from the PPs. I think the biggest thing we did for my sisters wedding was just put everything aside ahead of time and walk through the day in our head so we didn't do things like forget safety pins, bobby pins, you know those little things you don't even think about.

    One big thing which we did was the day after clothes! Don't forget shoes and everything like that. You want to think about what you are wearing after the wedding is over.
