Wedding Planner Cost?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of hiring a wedding planner for my wedding this summer and wanted help in determining the real/average cost of these services for an Indian wedding that includes Henna, Garba, Ceremony and Reception events?

Any help with quotes, wedding planner links and prices past brides have paid would be very helpful to me!!

    it was around 10% but might vary regionally. many of them have differient tiers of service or can bill hourly. there are also two types that i gathered when i was doing my research. ones that focus on the budget conscious bride and the other focusing on the busier bride and helping with vendor selection and site visits.

    i think the PP is right, it is about 10% but you can also do just planning services or just DOC services. i think when i post this in my siggy, the chicago knotties list of vendors comes up. where are you in your planning? there are a few SA knotties. rajkumari put together a nice list of indian wedding vendors in the chicago area on yelp which we emailed about a few months ago. if you go to yelp.com and type in indian wedding in chicago il it should probably up. rajkumari are you still doing that list?
