NWR: Netbooks

Hi girls!

I was wondering if any of you could help me!

I need to transition to a tiny netbook for only work files because my main computer recently crashed due to a virus and I can't get it to work. Do any of you use an inexpensive netbook that does just word processing and internet? Do you know anything about Acer? I was looking into one of those. I just need to spend a little bit to get something to use only for work and I figured maybe one of you could help!

I have a dell mini for when I am traveling and don't want to carry the weight and for school since lightweight, but it has a downside too.  The screen is small, so if you need it for quick stuff, like the internet and word processor and you are not gong to spend a lot of time on it, then a mini will work for you.  But if you are goign to spend hours on the computer, the small screen really gets to you.  Since my other laptop crashed, I have been using the mini and it really gets tough looking at the screen for so long and that small, especially when I am working on my albums.

Heard of Acer, but I don't know anyone who owns it.  I have seen students use it, and I don't recall any bad stuff about it.

I thought about getting  netbook the last time I needed to replace my laptop...  I didn't basically for the reasons Hina mentioned.  I think it would be fine for carrying around, but I'd like the option of working on a large screen for things like spreadsheets, powerpoint, editing photos, or even just writing if I wanted to work for a longer stretch of time.

Acer was a common brand in my grad program and is fine as far as I know.  I've had a Lenovo for the past year and a half, and it's been fine.  It has some quirks that make it "less nice" than DH's Mac, but it cost about $450 and is essentially an IBM.  Acer is a similar type of brand.
