First time poster here, so I hope I don't mess this up.
I've done a bit of searching here and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person wanting to have a Harry Potter themed wedding. Ever since my fiance and I got engaged everyone has been telling us we can't possibly have a "normal" wedding, which is good because I never really wanted one of those anyway.
I've loved some of the ideas that some other people have had here for their HP theme, so I guess I should elaborate on mine a little bit. It's not the easiest thing to go with, but I'm trying and if anyone else has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
First off, both my fiance and I are Slytherins (officially sorted on Pottermore and all!) so we want to go with the green and silver wedding colors. As we're getting married in the summer, the colors aren't terribly summery but oh well, it's our wedding so we don't care
. Otherwise, we definitely want to keep it subtle, with cute little touches so that people that aren't familiar with HP won't feel alienated. I don't want it to feel like we're at a kiddie party.
