Hello! Congrats on your upcoming wedding and welcome to the Offbeat board!
It is important that you spend a few days or so lurking and reading threads before you post. Every board is different and lurking will give you a feel of our Offbeat community.
Having an offbeat wedding does not mean it's ok to ignore wedding etiquette. Offbeat means not carrying flowers or wearing a non-traditional dress or walking down to ailse to something other than Canon in D. It does not mean having an A/B guest list, or not inviting guests who recieved a STD or having a pot luck reception. General rule of thumb is that if your offbeat idea affects your guests directly in a bad way, it's probably not a good idea.
