Flowers

I've been looking on line for some good resources to check out flower options but can't seem to find anything that goes into real descriptions.  Has anybody come across a good site?  I'm looking for a description of frangrance, pictures of the flowers, hardiness, time of year for best blooms, etc.

Due to a severe allergy to mums and daisies going into a florist is a little dicey for me so the internet is my friend for this.  :)

Thanks!

P.S. A friend is doing all the arranging for me once I tell her what flowers we want.

This might not be exactly what you're looking for, but http://www.fiftyflowers.com/ does a nice job picturing each flower and giving a bit of detail for bulk orders.  For example: "Bulk Gardenia flowers have large beautiful blooms that are perfect for floating in a bowl with some candles. These very fragile flowers have no stems and must often be wired or glued. Included are the silk leaves upon which the flower sits. A very popular wedding flower, the white Gardenia would add an elegant touch to any table centerpiece, wedding bouquet, or flower arrangement. Shipped fresh from our farms directly to your doorstep at wholesale prices!"

So if you know the look of what you're going for, they may be able to give you the name.

Another thought, if you're looking for ideas you could meet up with a florist at a local coffee shop (explain you are allergic to some kinds) and get their specific ideas.  Then take what you learn there and have your friend arrange.

The knot has a great flower book.  It has great photos and decriptions.
