Tea Party Themed Sunday Brunch Wedding

My fiance and I wanted to do something different and maybe a little funky for our wedding reception. We both love art and one of our favorite things to do on the weekend is Sunday brunch. It became a habit of ours, so we found a venue with an inexpensive brunch menu. Our wedding will take place at 10:30 am on a Sunday morning and our reception will basically be a big tea party with an artistic flair.
This is wedding #2 for both of us and we decided to skip some of the traditional reception practices. There will be no dance floor or DJ. But there will be mood music streaming from an ipod all morning. There are no bridesmaids or groomsmen, just us and my 5 year old daughter (who will be walking me down the aisle). Also, we are not getting a cake, as there will already be dessert provided, and we want to save that $500 for something better.
The centerpieces will be tea pots stacked on top of tea cups with flowers inside and each table will be named after various types of teas. The favors will be tea cups with succulent plants inside and metal tea tins with loose tea. Also there will be mini easels with some of our favorite paintings (mini-sized of course). Our colors are ivory, soft pink and gray. i can't wait to see how all of it will look together!

These are some examples I found online (not my images). Enjoy, and cheers!

  • That is a super cute idea! Way to make your wedding your own without an over the top budget! Are you guys doing tea cup favors or any favors at all?

</div><div>Yes, the tea cups with the succulents are for the guests to take home. There will be little notes attached to let them know. Also, we picked up some cute little tea tins at Michael's (with a coupon of course) to put loose tea in. </div>
  • Your wedding sounds super cute!

You mentioned having a five year old daughter and having mini easels there, have you considered buying a few small canvases from a craft store for the kids to create paintings on? Something like this: click me

You could keep the paintings as a reminder of the wedding, perhaps put them together in a larger frame, or let the children keep theirs and just keep your daughter's painting.

Sorry for the unsolicited suggestion, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I'd wish you good luck but it seems like you have everything under control.
