Rehearsal Dinner Invitation Wording- HELP!!!

So........ my nickname is "Sailor" because..... I cuss like a sailor. Not "proud" of it but hey- it is who I am. My friend swears she is going to write a book of "Tanya-isms" because after 9 years- I still surprise her with some of the crap that comes out of my mouth. So you think I'd be witty and come up with some fun, creative, and offbeat wording for my rehearsal invitations right? WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm getting kind of pi$$ed with myself and the total lack of creativity- of course b/c it's for me. Anyone have anything creative? Down to earth? Witty? I'm dying over here!!!!!!!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitation Wording- HELP!!!

  • Are you hosting the rehearsal dinner? If not, whoever is hosting should be taking care of the invitations.
This is all I can offer as far as wording:
    Eric popped the question
    and Nikki said "Yes!"
    All the planning is over,
from the hall to the dress!
    Only one thing remains
for this day to be great!
    Practice makes perfect,
    April 7th is the date!
    We'll practice the ceremony,
    and iron out the kinks.
Then it's off to Name of Restaurant
    for some dinner and drinks!

  • Yeah that's like the only cute thing I can find, but it's not enough for me. My Mom is hosting the event, but we're not traditional in the sense of her handling the invitations and all that jazz.
  • Having the host invite guests is not about traditional vs offbeat. It's about respect and etiquette, but if your mom is cool with that then go for it. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Maybe add in a few curse words.

I know this probably isn't much help, but I know a lot of people that don't do invitations for the rehearsal dinner. They just go by word of mouth. Depending on how formal your RD is, this might be an option?

I vaguley remember offbeatbride.com having a post about 'offbeat wording' also. Granted, most of it was for the ceremony itself, but maybe you can get some ideas from it?

    Not a problem.

Thanks about the shoes! I just wish I could find a place that actually sold them, haha.

  • How much are you willing to spend? My friend sent me this website where you send them pictures of the shoe you want and they make it! They go back and forth with you until you LOVE it. It's $125/pair you deisgn and then after you design it, it goes on their website, and anyone else who buys that shoe- you get $15!

Thanks for the idea, but as much as I love those shoes, I am on a tight budget. Plus, depending on the color of the wedding dress I get, those probably wouldn't match. Thanks though.
