Quick Question.. and then some fun!

So I keep reading that you are not supposed to use a monogram that represents his last name before you are married.  Well here is our dilemma.. My name, his name and our future last name all begin with A. Would you still use an A on things?

And now.. what is one product/store/method that saves you time and/or money? Something you swear by and wish you could tell all your friends about.

We started grocery shopping at Aldi and we have cut our grocery bills in half.

Other examples...  cleaning with a magic eraser,  face wash that rids you of acne, yada yada yada.

Re: Quick Question.. and then some fun!

  • My first name and both of our last names start with "B". So I put pretty B's on the votives, but that's the only place I incorporated it. I think using an "A" would be perfectly fine.

Hmm, I found that Target has a makeup line (ELF) where basically everything is $1! I bought 7 things and started playing around with some products I wouldn't normally use. It's really fun and great for experimenting!

Everytime I'm buying anything online I google [store name] coupon codes, it's ALWAYS worth a shot, I've saved so much money over the last few years! The most reliable website for coupon codes that I've found is retailmenot.com
  • I think you are just fine with your monogram option.

And I cant think of anything that saves me time or money!!
I may have to work on this!

I have a really hard time saving money, but my FI is a saver. So one way I have learned to save money is by having a shared bank account with him, I don't spend like I usually would because I feel guilty spending what I would on my own because it's his money too. Instead of having spontaneous beauty days I might go out to lunch and spend half as much. We also contact each other before we spend more than 20 dollars to let each other know where we are financially. it's really taught us good practice for marriage.
  • I personally did not want to use our monogram. I don't see any problems if you want to use it though. It's an individual decision.

As far as cool savings idea... I got nothing.

I think you are perfectly OK using that monogram. This just might be me, but it is one of the things that wouldn't bother me at all if it was 'incorrectly used.'

As for tips and whatnot, I have nothing. I just try to collect coupons and buy generic brands.
