XP: Centerpieces

Hi girls,

I'm on this board quite often lurking with the rare occasional post and I love seeing everyones ideas! So I'm hoping you can help me out with some centerpiece ideas here.

I'm getting married in July with a tent reception.  It's being held at at 1800's historic farm so we're going with a rustic vintage theme. Our main colors are blues and greens with yellow to tie things together.  I'd love to have centerpieces that are flowerless but i just can't come up with anything other than old vintage books with (flameless) candles.  Any other ideas would be welcomed since we'd like to have 2-3 different centerpieces for the tables.

How about something using old jars? I've found a lot at yard sales, I keep pasta, etc. on my kitchen counter in them. You could use colored marbles and candles in them. You could stack them on the vintage books to give your centerpiece some height.

Maybe vintage-y lanterns? Or frames with old pictures in them? Maybe pics of the couple and/or family that are a bit redone to look vintage? (black and white/sepia)

I love your original idea. Plus dscolorado has some excellent suggestions, too. I don't have anything to add right now, though. Is there anything in particular that you guys really love to do or like?

There are many awesome ideas here.  Fill mason jars with fruit.  Look for distressed frames, lanterns, or smaller farm implements.

Since it's a farm, you could do old timey looking pitchers, or collections of pretty jars.  Thrift stores are always great for that kind of thing.

Mason jars can make really awesome centerpieces!

old items.  mining pans. can hold candles. watering cans. you can put lights in mason jars if you dont want flowers. You could use vintage fabrics on the tables.  If you can't find vintage get some cheap lace fabric and soak it in coffee or tea until you get the old color you want. Old hand tools? Picture frames, glass milk jugs with colored marbles in them?

im using mason jars with colored ribbon and twine around where the lid would go with a floating candle, set on a slice of birch, with wooden flowers buds and a handmade book "what hobby should we take up/where should we travel/other random questions for our guests to fill out. im tossing around the idea of a vase/hurricane filled with leaves, bc mine is in october.
