Bridal Palanquin

I'm planning a Hindu wedding ceremony for this fall and I would REALLY like to come in on a palanquin (aka litter or sedan car) like in the old days. It's the traditional way for a bride to arrive.

Remember in Gladiator how the Caesar and his family members were being carried through the streets on a little platform with pillows and curtains? I want that. It doesn't have to be that ornate, just a platform.

Where do I get one???

Re: Bridal Palanquin

  • Would you trust yourself to make one? I bet it wouldn't be too hard to do, use a longer flat piece of wood for the platform, attach handles across it and then build a frame... ok, it might be time consuming...

  • I'd contact some party rental companies and see if they can help you out or direct you to someone who could.

I'm pretty sure I saw a girl that had one of "My Super Sweet 16" (lol) and she must have rented it from somewhere!
